I bought this for my hermit crab habitat. I'm a fan of Inkbird products in general and I love that they listen to their customers. This gauge is the result! Most gauges of this type are not intended for the high humidity required for land hermit crabs. I am eager to see how long this one holds up compared to similar products. As usual with Inkbird the gauge is easy to get set up and working. It comes with double-sided tape, and an acrylic mounting shelf which I love, and the gauge also has a little kickstand in the back if you want to place it on a flat surface. The bright green color is cheerful and fits in with the decor in my crabitat.

This may be a great accessory, and I really wish I could have figured it out so I could put it on my hermit crab's tank. The instructions were pretty much non-existent and I had to give up. Waste of money for me.

I rescue/rehabilitate hermit crabs and volunteer with the Land Hermit Crab Owners Society so I’ve had a lot of these gauges over the years. I have to say this one is by far my favorite. I love that I have the option to turn off the screen if I want. I calibrated this hygrometer and I tested it against 2 others in my tank and it is the most accurate. I will definitely be investing in more of these in the future.

The monitor came very well packaged and with a very easy to understand instruction sheet. The included mounting bracket is a very nice addition, however personally, I would like to have seen it incorporate a mechanism to slide the unit in and out of for added versatility. Now to the nuts and bolts of reviewing its performance- let me state clearly upfront that I used it outside of its intended purposes so my thought are from that perspective only.Given that I do not keep reptiles but birds and like to have a way to quickly view current conditions in my incubators without using my logger or the Ampro meter (both require either computer download of data, or calibration for use), this unit appeared to fit the criteria of quick referencing of conditions.I really like to range meter incorporated into the readout- it gives you and idea of current conditions as well as the range the environment has gone through. VERY NICE!!Now onto the real life conditions- I used an older GQF incubator that currently has some chickens eggs going in it- I use 3 seperate mercury thermometers that are calibrated monthly using ice baths then offsets denoted on each thermometer. I also use wet bulb thermometers to have a data set for the humidity in the unit. This is my baseline when evaluating any new instrument or controller. The monitor had a very rapid response to changes within the incubator- we use a humidity pump to keep our humidity within a specific range, controlled by an Inkbird humidistat. Upon a 24 hr window we found that the range of differential was on par with the Inkbirds read out EXCEPT there is a discrepancy in the Inkpet- i.e- when the incubator was at 55%, the Inkpet records it at 35%. Upon checking with the wet bulb, it should be noted that the Inkpet was indeed approximately 18% off of actual humidity. We discovered that it was consistent in the range of error.Temperature was not as far off as verified with calibrated mercury thermometers. It was within 1-1 1/2 degrees of accuracy but I would say that is probably within the range of just how rapidly it responds to environmental changes being digital and not analogue.Conclusion- I feel the unit would be very well suited for its intended application. Would I use it as a primary instrument for incubation- probably not, or at least not until I could figure out how to adjust its offset. But that aside, I feel it is a nicely made unit and that hope they may incorporate a means to correct the offset going forward.

I've tried tons of different meters like this and so far this one is the best. Does as it should but the best part for me was the included mounting bracket. Also feels a little better quality than alot of others. A+
