Simplemente retira la bujía, atornilla el medidor y gira el motor mientras observas las marcas radiales en el eje deslizante y nota la parte superior de la carrera del pistón. No utilices en un motor que tenga un ángulo agudo de bujía con respecto a la parte superior plana del pistón o puedes doblar los ejes TDC.

Great tool. Heavy, solid, no slack, moves smoothly. -- After reading reviews on several of these, I was hesitant I would get anything of quality. Most reviews seem like seller warfare. -- This tool is meant to use while hand turning an engine. Exceeding the angle or using a key to turn it over quickly would be the only way I could imagine this too breaking. The rounded tip and spring loaded, smooth moving shaft should not have any issues on most pistons. -- I will be using this to help dial in all 8 cylinders and valve adjustments on a 351w. I was going to keep using my screwdriver, but thought this might be slightly easier for 1 person.

I have used the piston stop device many times over the years and it works well. However, on most of my very old cars I have to be under the car to turn the engine so I have to get up and down a lot to make it work. With this device you can turn the engine while an assistant (aka wife) watches the indicator rise to the highest point where you stop. A little pricey but works well and is well made.My father used a wine cork and a screwdriver and that worked for him. I like to think I have come beyond that over my seventy five years.

So, I started to give this TDC (Top Dead Center) tool a try and all in all I do like it and there is nothing wrong with the product itself. But -- there are a few things people need to know. This tool comes with a disclaimer that it is to be used on Hemi engines only. Yes and No. I am using it on my Neon and the one thing people need to be careful of is the angular threading of the device into the spark plug hole. If the angle of your spark plug hole is quite noticeable, you want to avoid using a tool like this because once you turn the crankshaft to watch for TDC, you risk hitting your exhaust or intake valves. If the angle is slight and there is no risk of hitting valves then you will be okay to use this tool. It works just fine on the Neon. The tool should stop and hold the piston at TDC.The only other issue is that the valve cover, and spark plug tubes in the case of the neon, should be removed that way you are able to seethe rise of the gauge. Otherwise, it is just hard to see but you can definitely feel it and do it slowly so as not to break anything on the gauge. It is a solid tool and worth purchasing if you are doing any head or cam work and timing set. Other alternative is to purchase a long reach TDC tool without having to remove the valve cover.Tool is a mechanic necessity.
