This purchase was a replacement for the previous version which finally broke down ( after 5 or 6 years) exposure to weather. Easy to set up but you need the base station to change sensitivity, night only operation, and duration while the previous version was standalone. I actually prefer this version as the timer is default set to a short period, maybe 3 minutes, and it works well for our application. We have an external stairwell to the basement and this sensor provides a handsfree switch to illuminate your way. With the short time period, I never need to worry about leaving the light on which was a constant hassle with the previous version. The flexible wall mount is a bit underbuilt.

We have insteon throughout the house and they are great. We use this on our secondary drain pan in our AC unit as its in the attic (Unico) to alert us when the condensate has come out of the main pan. It requires a physical reset when it goes off which is perfect and forces someone to check the AC unit if its overflowing water.

Have these at every sink and hot water heater. Already saved a major flood. I wear an Apple Watch and gave me an immediate notification. Came home and yes the tap was leaking could have been disastrous. These are worth every penny.Next I want to get the auto water shutoff valve and combine these. A bit of an expense so we’ll see

Great device for its intended purpose. In my case monitoring a low area near a sump pump.Initially I could not get my ISY994i hub to find and link to the leak sensor by using the normal "Start Linking" function. The reason is that the PLM connected to / used by the ISY994i hub only works through its power line connection and only will recognize Insteon devices (such as a lamp module) that are power line connected. The water sensor unit is wireless only, so the PLM can't detect it directly through the normal ISY linking process. Instead, on the ISY administrative panel, use the "New Insteon Device" menu option instead of the "Start Linking" option. Enter the water sensor's address printed on the unit's bottom label (e.g., 4C.81.F3) into the ISY "Address" field, next (optionally) enter a name for the sensor in the "Name" field, then select the "Remove Existing Links" radio button, and press enter. As long as you have another dual mode Insteon device nearby (uses both the power line and wireless for its communication) such as a Lamp Linc unit, the ISY will instantly recognize the water sensor. Works great!

These are simple to use, and they work perfectly. I installed them all over my house under sinks, behind toilets, under the hot water heater, in front of the dish washer, refrigerator, and laundry machine. I tested each one individually by spilling a little water, and they all worked perfectly.Pros:• Easy to install. Just set it on the floor where a water leak might happen.• I get a notification on my phone within seconds of a leak being detected.• I have 18 of these, and they all work flawlessly.• Insteon claims that the battery should last for about 10 years• The range is decent. All of mine connected except one. Then it successfully connected later when I added a dual-band Insteon dimmer switch that extended the signal into the basement.Cons:• If you plan on installing these where pets might get to them, make sure you attach them to the ground with some double-sided tape. Otherwise your pets will knock them over, and they won't work. It would be great if Insteon would address this limitation.• These sensors DO NOT work with the Insteon Pro Hub. Make sure you get the non-pro hub if you plan on using these sensors.Overall I'm really happy with these. Next I plan on installing a valve at the main water inlet which can be controlled by the Insteon Hub. That way the water to the entire house can be shut off whenever a leak is detected.
