Its ok to thread a few rods, but quickly. becomes nearly impossible to cut as the teeth dull very quickly. used plenty of lube. took it slow, was threading brass for goodness sake but after 3 uses of 1" threading per bolt. the 4th was near impossible to cut and looked like a drunken chimp had hacked at it with a frozen banana.... Guess you get what you pay for. good for a few uses then toss and get better quality.

Good price. I’ve been threading stainless steel 1/4” rod and the tap has been preforming well!

I had one - just one PEM stud that was stripped (upon arrival) on a bracket that held several similar studs about three inches apart.A normal round die usually fits into a unit that requires 'spoke-like' handles to turn the die.I could turn this one - as designed with a simple crescent wrench. Now I don't know how this would hold up over repeated use since I only had one stud to repair. And it worked perfectly. (NOTE - this die was used to 'rethread'. It was not used on an unthreaded rod.)The local Big Box store was asking two to three times as much for a conventional die (Just the die - not counting the handle unit. Which - in my case would not have worked anyhow because of the other existing studs being set within inches of the damaged one.So for those of you who can visualize my predicament, who understand tap and die use, well, I would certainly recommend this little tool.

Buen producto, pero podría mejorar mas. Es recomendable para trabajos de mediana carga.

Die nuts, also known as rethreading dies, are dies made for cleaning up damaged threads, have no split for resizing and are made from a hexagonal bar so that a wrench or shifter spanner can be used to turn them. Die nuts cannot be used to cut new threads. This is a hexagonal die nut and this should be made very clear in the advertisement it cannot cut new threads. Those who are not professionals, but budding amateurs take note!
