This is a clean, lightweight hardhat that looks up to the task of protecting my melon from random hazards. The hardhat's overall design is rather classic for the times, with a comfortable and effective suspension system on the interior that stays put on my head when bouncing up and down ladders. The knob on the back tightens everything up properly and doesn't come undone. The visor on the front is nice and clear, and it's also rather large...this has proven beneficial in keeping stray wood chips out of the sides of my eyes compared to my typical safety glasses. It's also frameless, which is surprisingly useful when it comes to my overall field-of-vision. I DO have to figure out how to remove it, because I'm guessing that the visor has a shorter lifetime than the hard hat itself. The hat itself is rather lightweight, and therefore I'm using this as more of a light-duty option while doing some outdoor work in a tight space at the moment. It protects just fine from me bumping my head into branches and pieces of framework. The overall construction - lightweight as it is - is not quite as beefy as some other hats I have. However, it's rated properly, and therefore the design and materials used may simply be stronger and lighter. I have no intention of testing it to its limits, either! It may be a bit expensive - nearly 70 bucks - but considering the nice design, the fit and finish, and the great visor, I'm quite happy giving this my own seal of approval!

An excellent piece of protective gear for optimum safety in industrial and construction settings is the Jackson Safety non-vented hard helmet. This hard hat offers dependable head protection from falling objects and other risks thanks to its sturdy, impact-resistant shell. Its non-vented construction guarantees optimal protection without sacrificing strength, and the suspension system's adjustment capabilities allow for a customized fit for increased comfort. This hard hat is a solid option for workers looking for dependable head protection because it fits industry safety regulations and is suitable for a variety of work environments.

I wanted to like this: as it is nicely sized, has a good suspension system, and very handy flip down goggles/visor. But it has a rather glaring flaw: the thickness of the actual shell is woefully thin. It appears like any sort of hard blow to this shell would open it like an egg shell. It might serve some light duty purpose, but it could give you a false sense of security you'd regret later. At a price of $68, this is not worth the cost for what little protection you get.Not a recommended buy.

We live on a lot surrounded by 12 acres of trees (mainly old growth oak and pine, 50'+ tall), so I am doing some basic tree work a few times a year. Cutting down storm damaged trees and removing dead trees necessitates a helmet in my opinion, and this one is perfect. I have a huge head AND a lot of hair so I am always struggling to find hats or helmets that fit, but this one fits perfectly with a bit of room to spare. I also had my wife try it on to see if it would fit a small head, and it snugged right up on her head as well. The area between the webbing and the shell is big enough that she didn't even have to take down her ponytail. When cinched, it stays in place even without the chin strap. It feels sturdy and snug, and the ANSI rating means that it should offer great protection. The best protection from head injuries is not getting hit in the head in the first place, hard hat or not, so hopefully I'll never have the need to actually test that rating. Good planning and preparedness is more effective than physical protection when you're dealing with hundreds of pounds in motion, but the physical protection is necessary regardless. The only slight downside is the weight. It's noticeable weight on your head and I could see it causing some neck fatigue after wearing it for a few hours. The visor is nice and covers my face really well, but it definitely adds quite a bit to the overall weight.

I'm always frustrated buying hats. At best, I'll search through Under Armour or Lids to find the XL-XXL or 7 7/8" hat (or if I'm lucky 3 or 4). So hurrah that out of the box this fit my head with room to spare. I was able to ratchet it down to fit snugly. There was just enough play with the chin strap that it fit on my large noggin. Happy to add this to my CERT safety gear.
