If I could give negative stars I would! I cannot believe I paid almost $30 for this piece of junk! Not only did it leak lying down, but also leaks when pouring!!! Top is totally flimsy plastic and in trying to move the flaps to open the spout they both broke off easily and needed to be snapped back in. "Airtight"??? far from it! :-(

SOLID! Not a low end plastic pitcher. No leaks! This is exactly what I wanted! It takes boiling water extremely well and is easy pouring. As manufacturers instructions, it will crack! I dropped it on a corner causing it to leak. I just ordered another one!

We had one that lasted in perfect leakproof condition for 4 years of solid, heavy use. We just ordered another and then decided to get one more as an eventual backup in case Amazon quits selling this item!It is easy to clean, fits perfectly in the fridge due to it's squared off sides. The lid and handle design is a wonder and what makes the entire thing worth every cent.

I broke my beloved glass pitcher after a couple years of daily use and needed a replacement. Although I try to avoid plastics I gave this pitcher a chance. Why? I can pour boiling water into the large top opening and use a stick blender whisk to dissolve sugar for iced tea. Large capacity. The design takes up less space. Weighs less than my old glass pitcher. So far the handle makes pouring easy but I am uncertain of the longevity of the pouring handle design. The only drawback is the lid. Not needing an airtight leak proof lid I find the locking lid a bit of a pain. NOT MADE IN CHINA!!!!!!!

This pitcher is highly functional, and sturdy. I was initially looking into borosilicate glass pitchers, because plastic isn't necessarily good for heat, and especially to cold transfer (because carcinogens) but there wasn't one I read about that wasn't reported as breaking by multiple people. Enter this one: phthalate-free, BPA-free, high heat resistance. I got it for putting freshly-brewed tea into, to then transfer it into the refrigerator.I do admittedly let it cool down first, so I can't speak to how well it handles an immediate transfer. But, I can say that I am VERY happy with it. The lid and handle are quite sturdy, and the body also seems sturdy. I love the handy, clicking lock on the handle- you just push a button with your one thumb, slide the lip down with that thumb, and pour! It's very well designed. It is, however, also easy to slide it down too far, and slide the lip seal off altogether. This will hold a modest amount of liquid. I am finding that I refill it halfway twice a night (yeah, I drink a lot of tea- I guess that's 2L!), so if you anticipate that you might possibly use a total of 2 liters a day, I might suggest buying the next size up, which is I believe 3.2 liters. I am personally considering upgrading to that size, or buying a second of these. I kinda wish I had bought the bigger one to begin with. It would have a larger footprint in your refrigerator, but I'm sure will still be worth it, especially since you can lay it on its side!
