Wow...very bright LED lights. Motion sensing, no rocket science stuff here. Just a good bright security light! Can't see you going wrong getting this light! Great purchase!

I just wanted to let people know about these lights. I purchased them 4 years ago and I live in Arizona. They worked really well at first and were plenty bright. After about 3 years in the Arizona heat, the motion sensing function degraded terribly and sometimes they would not even come on if you stood directly in front of it and jumped up and down. Also, going from hot summer to cold winter, I had to readjust the sensor range because the temp change messed with the motion sensing function a greatly. They would come on in the middle of the night for no apparent reason when it was cold out. Also, the lens over the motion sensor degraded to the point that it just cracked and fell apart. See picture. So if you live in a hot climate, you may want to reconsider this purchase.

Got this in early Feb. Only just around to installation at the cottage. It was installed by a qualified electrician and does not work. To late for return, guess I will buy a new one from Canadian Tire. You can exchange there anytime. ( should have gone there in the first place....ah well live and learn)Update. Found the problem, very easy fix. Light now works great, exactly what I wanted.Updated rating from 1 star to 5 stars, light now works great.

Only installed a week but works well, easy to install and much brighter than the 2 -100W incandescent flood light bulbs that I had for 30 years and needed replacing every couple years.

I've put in probably hundreds of motion, dusk/dawn, and combo lights over the last several years for clients, and this is the one I now recommend to anyone who doesn't have exotic requirements (such as tying in to a security system or industrial certifications, etcetera).Build quality: The quality of the components and construction is extremely robust, it uses standard threads and components if you do ever need to make repairs, which is unlikely but possible thanks to the powder coated metal construction. The electronics are nicely potted and they don't use the thinnest possible wire. There is ample length on the wiring for any type of installation you may need, and the hardware appears to be stainless steel. Even the wire nuts included are of reasonable quality and an appropriate size for use with typical copper wiring.Features: Basic but effective. On from Dusk to Dawn, Motion Trigger, or Motion Trigger from Dusk to Dawn. The range is adjustable to beyond 50 feet, and the unit is sensitive enough to pick up the dogs doing their business behind my garage, but not triggered by foliage that is definitely in its field of vision. There is one undocumented feature that you may want to use, or may get frustrated by. There is a dial to adjust the brightness level required to trigger the light in "Dusk to Dawn" mode. Basically, you can set how dark you want it to be before the light comes on automatically. This is useful if, for example, there's a streetlight or porch light nearby that might be interfering with the one you're trying to adjust. The directions say to set this dial to the lowest value in order to use the "Motion from Dusk to Dawn" mode. If you do as directed, the light will only come on if it senses motion during hours of darkness. However, if you set that sensitivity dial it to a higher value on Motion mode, the lights will come on at about half brightness automatically at dusk, and switch to full brightness when the motion is triggered.Maintenance: I am comfortable calling these maintenance free. Depending on where you live and where you install it, you might occasionally need to give the bulbs or sensor a quick wipe due to dirt/dust/grime, but I haven't yet. I have four of these lights in various places around my residence, and none have required that I touch them after I get them set up to my liking. The oldest one has been there for almost 3 years.Setup tip: A great way to aim the motion sensor quickly and accurately is to stand underneath it on your ladder (or whatever) once it's wired up and screwed in, and face the direction you want the light to "watch". Make a peace sign with your hand and put the back of your hand on the bottom of the sensor. Now just point your fingers where you want the sensor to watch and use your other hand to move the sensor to match the direction your fingers are "looking".
