We wound up returning these but only because my daughter prefers longer shorts. Otherwise they were well made and very cute.

These shorts are a great color and the fabric is nice, but they run too small. Plan to order up 2 sizes.

Too wide at the leg and not well finished at the front where the Velcro is.

These are nice shorts, they look good and seem fairly well tailored and constructed.RUN A LITTLE LARGE IN THE WAIST: As others have noted, the challenge is the size. If it's helpful, a size 7 has about a 25 inch waistband (though it's meant to ride below the child's actual waist) and about 32 inch hips.NO WAIST ADJUSTMENT: If your child likes their shorts to ride at the waist - you may be out of luck. There is no adjustment at the waist, the velcro attachment (see photo) doesn't have any flexibility and the tie is just a decoration. They'll tend to ride a little lower down. This is fairly typical for board shorts, but FYI.SMALL POCKET: The pocket is small, which may limit its usefulness. Inside, it's about 3 inches wide by 3 inches or so high.NO LINING: There is no lining, so these probably won't serve as a bathing suit. They are a nice coverup for a bathing suit - whether for modesty or to reduce sunburn.

100% Polyester yet feels like a brushed cotton. Cute cut and love the pocket on the side. We bought these in bulk for our dancers and will give you some measurements to help guide you with sizing. Each girl was sized to leave about an extra inch of space to allot for growth over the next 7 months. 26" waist (measured around the most narrow/natural waistline) and 32" hips (measured around the fullest part of the bum) wears an XL. 24-25" waist with a 29-30" hips wears a L. 22-23" waist with 27-28" hips wears a M. 21-22" waist with a 26-27" hips wears a Small.We did end up having to move over to the Women's Breeze shorts for our somewhat larger sized girls. Please note that the Pinks do not match. Women's is more Magenta where the girls is a true Hot Pink. So we will now have to exchange and go with white. Bummer!
