The "Keenso 3m/4mm Shifting Cable Housing Cover, Bike Brake Wires Hose" came a few days ago. As I'm an Amazon Reviewer who gets select items free, in the hopes I'll follow through and review most, and because I have 4 bikes, I felt it would be wise to get this. Besides, my green bike has a damaged Brake cable HOUSING, so I got this in green, anticipating that would be the most likely Brake Housing I'd use it on. But after getting this, my project got delayed, as I recalled that, for some reason, I had read that brake and shift cable HOUSING is made differently. After I had pulled the Brake Cable out of on my existing rear brakes, and cut the bad end of my existing brake HOUSING, I opted to try to re-use the housing, if possible. I did that, and then did some research on whether this housing could be used in the future on other brake and shifter housing repairs. I read they are NOT interchangeable, so I almost threw this away. I'm cheap, so I kept it, but later tried to thread some USED Brake Cable through it, and that didn't work. But because I'm a Reviewer, w/ obligations, I revisited the topic later when I thought I should better cut the housing and try some NEW brake cable through it. That worked, but I was still skeptical of the product, given its ad description, that could mislead consumers, both those who didn't read the ad closely, and may be expecting CABLE (brake or shifter), and those who read it closely enough, and would use it as SHIFTER HOUSING - where it may or may not be appropriate and get good, long-term results. Below, please see what 1 search results states. Since Amazon sales depend on the product ad text, so closely, I feel the Ad Description needs to be clarified for the consumer. Brake v. Shifter, and Cable v. Housing. And given my online search results, I expect the Merchant should post the reason why their HOUSING can be used for both, (if it can.) That would be to the Mechant's advantage too. This new product could be revolutionary in the market, or a product failure, based on an assumption.1 of several Online Search Results:Q: "Are bicycle brake and shifter housing interchangeable?"A: "No, bicycle brake and shifter housing are not interchangeable.
