Purchased for a 1998 chevy truck. Programing with a paperclip, following instructions, was simple and effective. Both new remotes were perfectly! Very happy to restore keyless lock and unlock capability.

The remotes do well and do come with a battery - that was unclear until I had them in hand.There is a slip of paper that gives a web address for YouTube instructions on how to program these remotes to your vehicle. I got a lot of laughs at the feeble attempt of someone who could not hold his phone anywhere near the work he was doing, and finally asked someone nearby for help holding his phone. He admitted he had no idea what he was doing and somehow apparently by accident got the remotes working. He even expresses his shock that the programming was successful.Don't waste your time looking for a YouTube instruction, unless you want to be entertained by someone's ineptness. Simply take a paperclip and jump the fourth and eighth pin on your vehicles diagnostic port, counting left to right on the top row of pins. You'll hear the door locks work. Then hold both remote buttons at the same time until you hear the door locks operate which will take about 15 seconds. Do the same to each of up to four remotes which is all the system will accept. Remove the paperclip from the diagnostic port. You can have both remotes programmed in less than 60 seconds very easily, unless you take 10 minutes figuring out how worthless the video instructions are.
