MY old brass guides had worn a bit on my mid-60's Bach Strad 37 Lightweight Bb trumpet. I did a search for replacements, hoping for more of the original brass styles to avoid the newer plastic/nylon ones. When I saw these titanium guides, I was struck by what a good idea these may be. They fit great and the feel of the valve action is smooth. I am very happy. It's so great that people are finding ways to help us keep our trusty veteran instruments up with the new equipment!

This fit perfectly into my old Yamaha student trumpet. Initial thoughts are the valves have better response but are a touch louder. I'm hoping this smoothes out some after more use. For now I'll hold onto the old plastic guides as insurance, as these titanium ones are staying in (unless a problem occurs).

I was noticing that my plastic valve guides were starting to wear & these are 100% worth the upgrade, especially for the price point. I’ve been using them for a couple weeks & It made the travel so much smoother.

This product gives you the smoothness and speed of a plastic valve guide, but the tone of a metal valve guide. Weighting this product, compared to my old valve guides, shows that this is 3 grams lighter than before. This gives the player the ability to press down on their valves faster, making it easier to play notes smoothly and more accurately.

I never thought such a small, almost unthought of, part of the trumpet would make such a difference but I'm very impressed with this upgrade to my Strad 43G. Have been playing this horn for 25 years, and after replacing my nylon guides, it was a very noticeably different horn. It has a slightly richer sound, and tends to slot a little better than it used to. It just "feels" better. If you've played the same horn for as many years as I played this one you tend to notice these small differences. You may not notice it on a horn you've only had for two or three years, but it would definitely be worth the investment for your Bach Strad or your Yamaha.Another quality offering from the great group at KGU Brass!!
