Good fit. Working as it should. The low rating it over a production issue. I'll explain. These vvt motors are timed using marks on the chain and sprockets. Good timing chains use differing colored links to identify whick link to which sprocket. They used the same color on every link. This isn't an issue on the cam to crank chain because it's still obvious. It is an issue on the balancer shaft chain. I did end up figuring it out, but differing colors would have taken the guess work out saving time.

My nephew thinks his HHR is a collectible. I think it's interesting what with the classic Cali orange color, but not quite a "classic." What we do agree upon is that this is a really complete timing kit for a really complicated little GM engine. No way I was gonna do all this myself, and he barely knows a timing chain from a bicycle chain, so I let my shop handle it. The guys there were good about it - they do trucks all day so this was maybe a fun change of pace.This isn't a DIY job unless you know engines - lots of stuff to get out of the way and many covers to remove and replace. Luckily the kit has all the gaskets and such that you need when reassembling plus the chains and the guides and the tensioners and the sprockets and a dozen other things you ought to replace while in there, including a new water pump for good measure.All sealed up now and the HHR runs better because the timing advance in the overhead cam sprockets is functional again - it was lagging before, I could see it in my OBD2 scanner. I'm very happy with this kit and my nephew is happy with his uncle for providing it, and that HHR has many good miles ahead of it. Great kit. Has EVERY last thing we needed!

The Angry Mechanic sez,Everything you need to replace the timing components. Good idea to replace this stuff if you are doing a head job for a bad cylinder head gasket. The easiest way to do all this on an HHR is to drop the whole engine cradle and drivetrain out, do the work in the engine, and lift it back up into place.
