Great kit! We were having trouble locating a repair kit for our 40 very old boat, this kit had everything we needed. Price was reasonable, now we are ready for fishing!

1st of all my boat is old (1972) and this kit provided enough parts to get us back on the water, not perfect by any means and I hope I don't have to do this repair again anytime soon. My repairs were needed mid summer so no time to return the kit based on poor quality, may have returned it if it was off season. (see pictures and you will understand)Picture of Kit- shows how parts are delivered, everything looks normal.Picture of U-Joint Bellow- shows strange defect/repair spot, not cool that they shipped this to me anyway.Picture of shift cable Bellow- shows my old compression clamp, because I had to re-use my old one as the kit did not provide one other than a black zip-tie.Picture of safety wire for the shift slider- shows my old safety wire installed because the kit provided safety wire is thicker and not bendable so I was not able to use it.Picture of hose clamp- shows design of all the hose clamps provided which have less metal on the inside diameter of the clamp and just a stub shown below the worm gear. I re-used my original clamps in fear that this would dig into and cut the bellows when tightening.Picture of Drive Unit seal- shows the seal provided is smaller than my original.Picture of Drive Unit seal seated in bell housing- again shows the seal provided is smaller than the machined circumference (look at the upper right hand section for gap). I hope this does not screw me over.Hope these pictures really help someone trying to choose the best parts they can get for the money. Good luck! Will rate this product lower if my bellows don't last more than 2 years.

I installed this kit. It lasted about 9 months. Boat was put in the water one time, this weekend. Filled with water. After inspection I found the shift cable boot has fallen into pieces. Absolutely terrible quality. BEWARE, you get what you pay for, should have known but will not do it again.

This is a very low quality item. When it takes 5 hours to change this it is not worth this kind of horrible Product. This was found when we put the boat in the water for a 3 day weekend trip. I obviously had to abort the trip due to water rushing into the Outdrive unit, past the bearing into the hull.

All the parts matched up and worked well except the shift cable, the piece that screws in was slightly bigger and wouldn’t thread in so I bought a new one at a local dealer. Everything else was a perfect fit. Kit was over $100 cheaper than the local marina.
