Back in June of 2013 I had purchased the KitchenAid ScrapTrap, which we found it to be very useful and over the years we have been using it on a daily basis to the point the brush of the scrapper began to deteriorate. Since it didn't come up in the search field, I knew I had to scroll down through the years to see when I had purchased it and sure enough they still had the item. It’s now 2023, so the original KitchenAid ScrapTrap is 10 years old.I not only bought another one for us, but I also purchased one for our friends who live in North Carolina. They too are very happy with the KitchenAid ScrapTrap and how it is so uniquely designed to fit over a kitchen drawer handle. It is so handy.Even though the brush was beginning to go on the older set, the scrapper is still fine (even like new); so we now have two of the KitchenAid ScarpTraps in our Kitchen. One is by the Toaster Oven and bread cutting tray, so it is easy to brush all the crumbs into the ScrapTrap and the older one is located on the other side of the stove, where we prepare food items to cook which is great to put all the peeling from potato, carrots or any other vegetable that needs to be peeled. It is well designed and even is designed to fit over the drawer handle; with the counter top just overlapping the ScrapTrap it is so easy to clean off the counter top. Even when we are baking and the flour is on the counter it is so easy to clean off the counter and put it into the ScrapTrap, then the easiest part is just to empty it into the garbage. It is one of the easiest gadgets to clean. The plastic is so smooth that it is easy to just wash it in the sink and also to dry it. The brush is also so easy to clean, just by adding a little Dawn on the brushed and it cleans them to be like new (the brush even slides out from the scrapper, which makes it even easier to clean and to dry). What more can I say, it's an inexpensive way to keep your kitchen organized and clean. Both we and our friends are so impressed with the KitchenAid ScrapTrap.Sincerely,Joseph Snooka/k/a by Amazon as JDSnook

Fits snuggly over a drawer top and is not too large or intrusive. The little scraper with brush is effective.A really useful product, I now couldn’t manage without!

Terrific product! This helps me keep my kitchen clean when I’m working there. I throw bits of garbage there through the day. Also all peels and bits of rind etc. it saves me walking a few steps to the garbage can, opening the door, sliding it out, putting it back, closing the door and walking back to my work spot. During meal preparation and throughout the day I probably would do that at least 10 times, probably more, but with this item I do it once or twice! I also use it to brush crumbs into when I cut bread. The little scraper thing is kind of useless, and when you dump the garbage it tends to fall in with that. So I keep that bit in my junk drawer in case I ever need it, but that hasn’t happened yet. Rachel Ray uses (and sells) something similar on her countertop — kind of a bowl, but buy this one. It’s perfect if you have a tall door or drawer it fits on. I can’t say enough about this item, I wish I had it 30 years ago!

The Scrap Trap was bigger than expected but that's not a bad thing. It has a little combo scraper/brush that you can clean off the counter with. My only "complaint" is that you really need to have cupboard doors that come all the way up to the counter. The ST won't fit on a drawer that has handles on it - the handles would stick out too far for the ST to work. Luckily for me, I had a door on the island that works well for this, but there were a few tense moments when I realized that was the ONLY place it would fit. The quality is good and it is very practical, especially for peeling messy vegetables (cucumbers and potatoes for example)

This was an impulse buy that turned out better than expected. There are only two downsides, but they don't decrease my satisfaction. I have very little counter space in my prep area and being able to scrape off the leavings of my fruits and veggies as I ready them for my smoothie maker or food processor is a giant plus. The little scraper works perfectly to scrape the remains into the bin and nothing falls on the floor. This is particularly appreciated when pealing garlic and onions as their skins on the floor are hard to get up with my swivel sweeper.Unfortunately, because the bin is rather large, it keeps me from getting as close the counter as I need to to reach certain items or get full use of the limited space. Because of that there's only one drawer I can attach it to and that is not the ideal one for quickest cleanup. The other downside is storage. Since I can't leave it on my drawer, I have to put it somewhere easy to access but out of the way when I don't need to use it and I don't have many storage options.Still the item is so useful, I'll find a solution. It's indispensable when I'm making apple sauce and coring and peeling multiple apples. It also is a real time saver when making a vegetable soup. I wish it collapsed like some colanders do these days to make storage easier, but I'll live with it as it is because it really saves me clean up time. It holds so much, I usually only need one trip to my compost bucket on the back porch.
