I have never actually seen a surge protector put to the testbut have used one for 20+ years since we lost a brand new TV from lightening. They have been a painfuly large expense that hurt every time and you could forget the models that offered the convience a USB. Convienence is for non poors. Well would you look at us now! Surge protection that covers phones and gadgets in both east AND westwings.

Had a time picking one of these out because I did not want anything long and huge, but I did want a USB connection. I was dismayed when I opened this because it is pretty wide, but it turned out very well. The larger spaces between allow for "plugs" of various sizes to work together. I have two oddly shaped and one normal plug. They are all connected easily with 2 spaces left for regular plugs if I needed. Works for me!

*BEWARE* that the power is momentarily cut from the other USB ports when inserting or removing something from a USB port. This will cause USB devices you're powering that don't have batteries (e.g. a Raspberry Pi) to reset/reboot

This power strip with surge protector and USB ports is of good quality. It works well for what I use it for, which is in my beauty room. I plug in my hair dryer, curling iron, hair straightener, cell phone charger, etc.,This power strip is a great value for the money.

Not only does this look sleek, but I love the spaced out outlets, and I love the USB-A and USB-C ports. I have two of these in my home protecting electronics, and I have been thrilled with both of them!
