I have trusted my cars to K&N Gold filters for decades. They are a reliably consistent high quality product AND the nut on the end has made my oil changing services SO much easier. If the K&N Gold is made for my car, that is what I will buy every time. Currently run them in 2003 Ford Cobra, 2016 Chevy Volt, 2016 Mazda CX-5, and so many other past cars.

I've heard the quality of the media has dropped a bit in the last two years, but I can't verify it. I still trust the filter, (can't be worse than that "orange" filter").In my application, the filter has a crossmember under it, exhaust manifold above it (yep, let's heat the oil by putting a filter next to the HOT exhaust manifold) and radiator right in front of it so that nut on the end makes it 10X easier to remove. I can't get any normal filter wrench in so I have to use a large adjustable wrench otherwise.
