I ordered this set of two Landical 2 Pcs 5 Inch St Benedict Medals Extra Large Metal Saint Pendant Christmas Vintage Gold Tone Finish medals for my family; I wanted to put one in our entry hall and one in my teenager’s bedroom. These medallions are large and sturdy, made of a bronze-toned metal. The sales page doesn’t say exactly what these are made from; towards the bottom of the page, in the small print, it says these are an “alloy.” They have a good heft to them and feel strong. The bronze or gold tone is attractive and highlights the intricate, three-dimensional design. Each medallion is a bit under 5” tall. They have a loop at the top to make hanging easy, you can hang them on a nail or screw, or thread a decorative ribbon or tap through them. The medallions are identical. The front design is St. Benedict holding a cross and a book; this could be the Bible, or his writings. The back design is a cross. Both designs are three-dimensional and intricate, they are attractive and the levels of design catch the eye.St. Benedict has had a surge of popularity in recent years, he reminds Catholics of the power of prayer in times of temptation and suffering. Wikipedia says, “This religious object is also a Christian symbol of opening doors and opening difficult paths. Tradition holds that it protects from curses, evil and vice, protects against diseases and protects good health.” We wanted to honor St. Benedict in our home. The sales page says the Latin on the medallion is “ exorcism prayers to ward off evil”; I haven’t read Latin since high school, but I ran some of it through Google translate, and the St. Benedict side of the medallion seems to say something along the lines of “Feel the name/He died before.” The cross side of the medallion has “pax” (peace) at the top, and a lot of letters. These are attractive medallions with lovely three-dimensional designs. They could be hung on a wall or displayed on a bookshelf or desktop; they are too large and heavy to wear on a necklace. I was quite pleased with the quality of these medallions.

These St. Benedict medals are very stately, well-crafted and beautiful! I love hanging them up on our walls. He was an exorcist and got rid of demons so I got his medals to help keep our home just a bit safer! They look great and it's hard to choose which side to show as both are beautiful. The metal doesn't make my skin itch at all (I can be sensitive to some) and doesn't seem to flake off. It does seem like good quality and it's pretty heavy.
