I've been playing drums for about 15 years ago, I saw someone play this instrument around 2012 and I've been wanting it ever since. I eventually learned what it was called and as it just so happens, there's a few on Amazon. They're basically a massive net of beads on top of a fiberglass gourd. It looks great, it's surprisingly addicting to play, but be advised, this thing is loud. You may want to wear headphones or some form of hearing protection when playing it...

Good weight so make sure you work out with this before you do a show. You want to get real comfortable with this one. It’s not the lightest one around but I like the sound. Mine does have a weird metallic ring in it but I don’t mind it most times. It’s goes un noticed anyway when everything is just jammin out.

This Shekere is strong due to its fiberglass shell but, the plastic beads aren't the quality for traditional sound. It is far from sounding like a traditional, Shekere, due to that reason, that are made of a natural gourd and have more quantity beads and better quality or real glass beads, that definitely makes a big difference. And its bass tones are weak. Other than that it will make good as a 3rd voice Shekere. If you own one, all you have to do is add a few lines, from top to bottom on the bead section, of string with glass beads. It'll sound much better.
