These little owls are great for counting, learning patterns, or sorting by color. There are four "branches" and plenty of owls for multiple children to play at the same time. The colors are bright and they are solidly made. We have a little owl fan who is especially fond of these, but all the younger kids love them.

This year I’m helping homeschool my grandson in Pre-k. I found working with small activities were very helpful with his learning facts. After we learned our numbers 1-20, we started playing games. We played Go Fish to study 1-10 and with the dice to practice 1-6.These small plastic owls come in so many different colors that you can create many different activities! The kit even includes small activity cards to use for number recognition, counting, and early math skills. Even works great for sorting and pattern recognition. This kit includes 4 small plastic holders shaped like branches and 220 owls! It is designed for classroom and small-group play—we use it with the three boys. There’s even a guide that includes an expanded list of suggested activities.

My students really loved playing with the stacking owls and asked every day when we would get them out again! I wish there were additional cards that came with the kit, but students started challenging each other by making up their own problems and patterns for classmates to finish. The owls were wonderful because they are larger than our counting blocks and shaped so that students pull them apart easily! There were some issues with the branch. There is too much play when the owls are inserted into the branch. They all lean forward and when fully loaded can cause it to tip over. The colors are great and the owls connect to each other fine. It does take some effort to separate some of them, so the size of the holes is not consistent. It does seem to correlate to color - reds are difficult to separate, but greens, blues, and purples are easy.We tried them with our grandkids and they loved playing with them.Overall this is a good product that could use a little better quality control on the dimensions.

I got this set to use for counting a pattern practice with my pre-k aged child now, and to use for teaching addition and subtraction to her next year when she is homeschooling for kindergarten. The owls are a nice big size and are brightly colored. My biggest complaints about this set is the owls are hard to put together and to separate. The owls when stacked more than five high will make the log come crashing forward. The cards that come with this set don't really offer much educational value. I was hoping for a bit more out of this set, but I think in hindsight the counting bears I have from a one of the Chinese companies that sell here on Amazon offered more educational content and the bears are easier for my child to manipulate on her own. I would suggest looking elsewhere for a counting set for children. There are plenty of other sets that are far cheaper that will work just as well.

The product exceeds my expectations it’s very good for working with multiple children at a time. With my younger ones I work on patterns and numbers and with my older one I work addition and subtraction. The visualization you receive from working with this manipulative is amazing
