The brush side works well enough but the felt tip side will leave an awful stain on anything it touches. Glad I tested it before using it on my lenses

The retractable brush is good and works fine. The cleaning tip(the one that has a screwable cap) is made up of a special carbon compound. It sort of cleans with carbon dust, so dont worry about the powder coming out, its only a cleaning compound. After cleaning the lens with the carbon compound cleaning end, you can simply clean the carbon dust with the retractable brush.Overall a good product.
