I love really well made products like this - I’ve spent WAY too much on items like this over the years! I guess I have a problem ;)Really well made, solid and locks firmly. When released, there’s still a fair bit of resistance when moving the top plate which is good as the camera doesn’t immediately fall to the side.Quality kit - highly recommended

Been producing video for years. I hate trying to level a tripod that doesn't have a ball head.I acquired a great manfrotto video tripod and head, but the head did not have a ball joint. This is a great solution to tripods lacking this function. My one issue with it is that the butterfly lock collar can be a bit tight. It spins in the same direction as the thread that mounts it to the tripod legs, so when trying to loosen it it can loosen the ball joint from the base.[EDIT / UPDATE] After using this on quite a few shoots I'm realizing how much of a pain the butterfly collar is. It is so stiff that it is impossible to loosen without it coming off the tripod. I can't make adjustments on the fly which renders this product useless. Unfortunately while this is a great solution - not being able to adjust the collar renders it deadweight. Would give it zero stars if possible as dealing with this sort of thing while shooting is a major headache.

I love the products of Leofoto because they are top manufactured ... I never had a "lemon"... they a affordable and top material quality ... I am not sure but I believe its the same factory who does RRS gear.anyway since I make my living in photography I have to rely on my gear and Leofoto is one of my favorite brands.
