Purchased two of these switches to use as timers for fans in a horse barn. I specifically liked the 8-12 hour selections which are hard to find on other manufactured devices. I installed them myself and found the directions that came with the switches to be excellent. The trouble I had with the self install was the existing wiring was nonstandard and had to be corrected prior to the new devices being installed. If the existing wiring had been done correctly, the install would have gone much quicker. Have had them installed for around a month now and they are working well without any glitches.I have used other manufactured switches but have found the Leviton devices to be much more reliable. I would recommend this switch.

My husband leaves lights and exhaust fans on in every room, every time, for the past 23 years. I was so sick and tired of bickering over it, that I finally (I'm a slow learner apparently) had a genius idea one day - I will beat him at his own game - I will install digital TIMER switches on the lights and fans he leaves on most frequently, starting with the bathrooms.Fortunately, we have a neutral wire, so this timer switch installed easily and worked perfectly. And thankfully I was able to select how many minutes I wanted the buttons to be before I bought it here on amazon. I picked the one with the maximum time interval of 15 minutes. This works PERFECT for what I wanted them fore. Anyways, arguments are down to a minimum now, I do not have to worry about the exhaust fan running all day from 7am-5pm while we are at work when he leaves them on, and it actually is helping both of us realize that we take too long of showers. We always thought we were fast shower-ers, that is until the 15 minutes on the bathroom fan timer runs out! Now we have our showers down to about 8 minutes. For 2 dudes, that includes washing, shaving our faces and drying off. This timer not only has saved energy - literally and figuratively - but I am thinking our electric and water bills will decrease too now that we are more aware of the time we spent showering. Pretty cool if you ask me!tl;dr Its a good buy

I was constantly turning off bathroom fans that were left on after someone used the bathroom.We have 5 bathrooms between the house and garage and at least one of them was left on for hours on end everyday.I solved the problem by installing these timers. Easy to install, clear instructions and did three of them in about an hour.They came with 3 sets of buttons with different colours to match the existing Decora plate. I used the white set and match perfectly.They work perfectly and the 10 minute timer is accurate to within 15 seconds, I didn't test the other timers but assume they would be similar.Excellent product and arrived very quickly.

This is the one you want! (If you don't need a timer override, and have a neutral in the box)Wow. Leviton has really always been my first choice in AC switches, but I never had a real reason until I witnessed the craftsmanship of this timer wall unit. The buttons are durable and pushdown with a nice soft click. The backing is fully enclosed in a safe chassis and the unit comes with lead wires of sufficient length for circuiting.The relay is turned to off in normal use, and when you hit a time button, the relay switches to on and will remain at on until the time runs out, or you hit the bottom off button. If you change your mind, and hit a different time button while the relay is on, the relay remains on, and the timer is reset to the newly selected time. Basically, how it aught to work.A few things:If you need an ON override ( a button to leave the relay on and override the timer), this unit is not for you. In my use case, I did not want this functionality, as this is an economy switch and the timer shall always be activated when the relay is on.Also, this timer requires power to 'think', so it itself needs a neutral wire for AC. You CANNOT use the ground for this purpose. You MUST use a neutral to wire this switch. Since the switch I replaced this with had simply a hot in, and hot out of the box, I was required to run a 3conductor + Ground cable to give the box: Ground, Neutral, Hot in and Hot Out. Make sure you have a deep wall box, as you'll need all the room you can get for the wires and wire-nuts involved to make this circuiting safe.In conclusion: This unit is fantastic. But, if you're an amateur electrician and the Neutral is not available in the box, I would highly recommend getting a qualified technician to run the proper wiring. The switch is worth it.
