Thus is just I was looking for to jeep remote, pen, stylus, etc. where I can find them. I like the cup holder but not too impressed with the included cup. It was difficult for me to open and ut us too small. Otherwise this is a great purchase

The flaps are loose silicon, which means that even if your recliner has a very wide armrest you can still use this - the silicon makes it grippy, and there's a lot of surface to it, so it won't move easily (on the leather and fabric recliners I tested it on at least, maybe there are materials where this is not the case). The cup holder has a solid grip on whatever you put in there, to the point that you may need to hold it down with your other hand to get a can out of it sometimes. This is a good thing, it'll keep your drink upright and make it harder to spill accidentally. Speaking of which, the bottom does extend under the cup holder as well to catch any drips down the side of your container. The included cup is made of compressed recycled polystyrene, it is marked safe to 100 degrees celsius (boiling water) but not marked dishwasher safe. It's a nice bonus, I honestly thought they had just put a generic cup in the photos but it is in fact included.

The main reason I got this couch cup holder tray is to hold the two TV remotes we have (but if it was used to hold our smart phones, that's good, too. That's because my husband mostly controls the remotes (but that's another story!) so when he gets up to leave, I have to often times search for them. Are they on the coffee table? Sometimes. Are they just laying on the couch? Perhaps. Bound up in the throw he'd had over his legs? Too many times to count. Or stuck down between the couch cushion and the couch arm. Ding, ding, ding! It drives me nuts, so that's why this tray and cup holder. It comes nicely packaged - with the tray n a clear bag inside of a sturdy and nice looking box. I'd forgotten about the travel mug that comes with it. Don't need it, but it's nice enough. When I took it out of the box and bag I was so pleasantly surprised by it's quality. The silicone has a nice feel to it and is easily wiped down to clean it (I can't yet vouch it if stains - that's the only thing I wonder since I chose the white one, which looks very nice). You can see from one of the photos the grid on the back; that helps it stay in place. But it's the four little round bar weights in the sides (two each side) that really give it weight to hold. Plus, if you should want to take the weights out, you can do that as they come out easily. As other reviewers have mentioned, the cup holder insert is tight, meaning once you put something smallish in it, you'll need two hands to take it out. To me that defeats some of the purpose as I'd just as easily spill taking it out, if it's an open cup (ah ha, maybe that's why they also provide a travel mug - it has a top!). I've taken the cup insert out -- which is easily done -- and most of my coffee cups fit in it. I'm not a big fan of using the cup holder, too much liquid near the couch, but that's just me and has nothing to do with the product itself. My main purpose was to finally have a place that the remotes ALWAYS go to. And if they don't, that's not the fault of the this couch cup holder tray. That's when I have to have a talk with my husband.
