I tried another type of clips and this one is the best by far. Easy to install and remove. Definitely will buy more.

I'm not sure why we are still using such inefficient technology in shoes, but here we are. So I will continue to be forced to buy superior shoelaces for all of my tie shoes. These are a very good stretchy, no-tie shoelace. I've tried several over the years. This is my preferred style (flat laces, flat locks). The laces are a good quality and easy to "install" in your shoes. The locking mechanism works as expected and the lace itself has the correct level of give versus snuggness. These fix a problem that I shouldn't have to fix, but they do it well.

Eh, not for me due to the chunky silver look added to my shoes. Looks ok in the ad pix, but it seems to look much more awkward when I looked down and saw these on my feet. I can see though that for kids these could actually be a safety feature, because they do very much work as described. Also might be a great alternative to buying new 'slip on' sneakers currently being marketed to adults - these no-tie laces could extend the life of currently owned sneakers, converting them to slip ons.

I wasn't impressed with the look of the silver buckles that came with the laces. It looked like silver bells on the shoes. The solution for me was to simply tie the laces in a bow like I would traditional laces and add a spot of super glue to make sure they wouldn't untie themselves. Can anyone explain to me why there were 3 laces in the package??? (I even ordered a second package, which also had 3 laces, so I have 3 sets of two laces).

These are effective and seemingly decent quality stretchy laces, that work to turn any sneakers or casual shoes into slip-ons. These are a great option to make casual shoes that you wear indoors, what my grandma used to call "house shoes" - even more comfortable and convenient. The stretch allows you to more easily slip shoes on and off without breaking the backs. Laces of this variety are a godsend if you have small children who haven't yet mastered how to tie their shoes, or who avoid doing so. They are also, as I found, incredibly appealing to cats! And since the package includes an extra lace for a total of three laces, if your cat makes off with one of the laces, it's not a problem. These laces look far more similar to regular laces than the rest, and that is definitely a plus, especially if, for example, your kid is embarrassed about tying his or her shoes in front of other children. These look like regular laces, and won't attract as much attention. I've got elastic laces on a pair of sneakers right now that wouldn't fool anyone, as they are thin and make no pretense of being regular laces. These laces have a pattern that mimics the braiding of flat sneaker laces, and it's fairly convincing. I'm going to upgrade that pair with these laces too. That's how much I like these laces. :)The only negative was that the terminating ends were made of metal, rather than a sturdy black plastic, That said, it is right there in the product photo, so it isn't as if I didn't know about that before ordering. It's also not really a problem at all, because I usually don't even use them. I like to tie each of the laces off at the end with a flat knot or double-knot on the inside of the shoe. So how do I keep it from fraying? I cut the lace in half, and cut off the shoelace ends with a very sharp pair of scissors, and then singe the ends using the flame from a tea light. After the ends are melted well, I press the ends flat, and then blunt the ends against the metal tea light casing until cooled. (Be sure to do this outside while wearing an N- 95 mask if possible - you definitely don't want to breathe in fumes from melted plastic! It works amazingly well, but take care to do it safely.) That way, not only does it hold up a very long time without fraying, but it's nearly invisible, and best of all, you can squeeze three pairs out of this one package, if you have small feet.Another way of doing it is to tie a regular bow, double-knotted, and then hide the bow underneath the tongue. That upside is that it's much less time consuming to go that route, and there is zero commitment, as you don't have to alter the lace in any way. Or, finally, if you aren't as picky as me, you can just go ahead and use the included ends. They aren't half bad, and you can use them inside the shoe if you like. The point is that you have options.I would highly recommend these stretchy laces. They compare favorably to many other laces of this kind that I've tried in the past. Right now, I've got them in a pair of Asics Onitsuka Tigers and they are about a million times more comfortable now, than they were with the cotton laces - unbelievably so. The list price is also very reasonable. Definitely do yourself a favor and snag a set of these!
