It took me a long time to test this solar panel because we had a pretty dark and cloudy January in the Northeast. At first I had a sunny day, though, and tested it indoors in direct sunlight facing south. Even though the red LED lit up telling me it was generating electricity, it failed to charge an iPad and an iPhone. On cloudy days it failed to charge an iPhone, even outdoors on bright but cloudy days.On a super bright day with full sun it totally worked… but only on the iPhone. It charged an iPhone 11 from 25% to 75% in just one hour, then about another hour to get it up to 100%. (note: sun was going down by then)It would not charge the iPad at all, even in direct full sun. I’ll try it again in May or June with more of a summer sun and update this review if it works.Carry case: I’m mentioning this case specifically because it is so detailed with options. I honestly think this case is over-engineered. It’s got a shoulder strap and tons of pockets. It’s as if the designers assume this case will become your go-to travel bag, so they included pockets for all your gear. In reality most people would toss just the folded panels into an existing backpack and leave the much bulkier case at home.Meh: I’m debating whether or not to hold onto this. It’s cool that it does work, but I definitely will not be taking it hiking. And sure, I could take it camping, but I would only need it if using my electronics a lot, and only after exhausting several much smaller and easier battery packs that I bring with me. So really the only reason for me to hold onto this is for power outages that last more than a day or two… and that almost never happens where I live. Hence: meh. If you camp a lot in the desert or spend a lot of time out on a boat, then I think this would make more sense.Pros:* it works (in full sun)* great for emergency preparedness* USB A and C ports* nice case and finishingCons:* it works, but it seems like it’s more of a novelty* pricey ($100) for mediocre payoff* not strong enough for iPad* cumbersome and bulky compared to a much stronger battery pack

This solar panel set works really well to charge a battery pack while the sun is up. It's light weight, and packs away easily when not in use. It can be used stationary, or strapped to your backpack.
