Had minor issues using this pump to remove the unwanted water that had gathered on my in-ground pool cover, but it did get the job done. The inlet screen at the bottom of the pump is very close to the ground, which is desirable for most applications so that as much water as possible gets removed. For the pool cover, however, that closeness was a bit of a problem... the pump would suction itself to the cover, cutting off the water flow. Had to lean the pump on an acorn that was also in the puddle so that it was far enough off the surface to suck up the water. Water flow wasn't as great as I expected - if my flexible hose was folded over, there wasn't enough pressure to actually pump the water. I had to make sure to keep the hose as smooth as possible and lift the initial section straight up to get a reliable flow.Pump seems solidly built, though the plastic outlets would probably be better served in aluminum instead. Installed outlet is threaded for a garden hose. There's also another outlet that can be installed for use with a plain hose without a connector built-in.

This Utility Pump by Little Giant, is a very solidly built pump that’s heavy and shows up to work ready for action, like it’s been drinking coffee or hours. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying.I. Quality – There’s little doubt that this machine is well built, out of solid, quality parts. Little Giant is known for making great pumps and this one is no exception. I’d put it in the lower side of the top tier for utility pumps and guess it’ll last me for years.II. Performance – It’s worked fantastic at everything I’ve asked it to do. With a shorter 10-foot cable, but long enough to be handy and help avoid extension cords sometimes and make life easier. The epoxy coated aluminum shell is strong and corrosion resistant. This thing is decently heavy at 9 pounds helping to keep it stable and hard at work. The pump is strong and has evacuated everything I’ve used it to, effortlessly and efficiently, making quick work of flooded areas, smaller pools and ponds. The motor sounds strong and shows no signs of slowing or potential failure.Overall, this is a great choice in the utility pump arena, leaving anyone who needs a utility pump super happy to have this one on their team. The epoxy coated aluminum, strong pump and dependable performance making for a solid pump. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it.You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. Nice affordable sump pump, great for training a hot tub.. even if you have a drain plug, it's good to get the remaining water that collects in the contoured seat bottoms and the bottom of the hot tub itself. Of course also great for a flooded basement... Ask me how I know! We live in the Northeast and few weeks ago had some bad storms that resulted in local flooding and a basement with about 7 in of water. This will come in handy if you run into such a situation! Comes with different fittings so you can hook up a hose or other kind of tubing. Very affordable and built well, no reason not to recommend.
