I needed a replacement key for my Pontiac Solstice and wanted a one-stop solution. This key worked perfectly. The locksmith was able to cut it in a few minutes, so now I have a switchblade key, which should have been the key that came with the car in the first place.

First..you'll need to get the transponder out from a GM key found on the outside rubber from the key. You can replace the cheap transponder and replace it with your own original transponder. Get your key cut. Don't go to Homedepot or Ace Hardware. Both said no. I ended up paying 10 bucks to Batteries Plus to get it cut.

Got it cut and programmed today, it was quick an easy, and it definitely looks better than my stock early 2000s car keys so I’m pretty happy, ordered the little round emblems for the key today so that will complete it.

For $20 I'd rather just buy a default key and key fob, this product came pre scratched up and scratches easily. I bought this product for my 2009 Pontiac G6. It feels really cheap and the truck button has red blended to it. Only buy this product if those things dont typically bother you!
