Installed on my 2002 Dodge Caravan. Previous rear shocks were just over 2 years old and no longer providing a smooth ride over crappy roads. I've been looking for "beefier" shock absorber and glad I found these. The install went well. Like other reviewers said, the tricky part was lining up the holes because you cannot compress these with your hand like standard shocks. They don't come compressed with a zip tie like standard shocks so you will have to find a technique to line the holes up on your vehicle. I installed the top bolt of the new shock then put a scissor jack between the leaf spring and the body of the van and lifted it up until the bottom holes lined up correctly. That worked for me. Went for a test drive and was immediately impressed with how well these handled all of the bumps and pot holes. Much smoother ride than the standard shocks I just took off. Don't know how long they will last but if I get a few years out of them I will probably just by another set because these ride so well. I sprayed them down with silicone lubricant while I still had the tires off just to avoid any squeaking that other reviewers complained about and so far I'm not hearing any noise. Highly recommend.

I was very happy with these shocks. I could load it up and didn't drag its bumper 4" from the road anymore. I only owned the van for a few months after I put them in so long term performance is unknown.

These work perfectly on my 2006 dodge grand caravan!! No more does my rear end bottom out with cheap shocks, and with these I can load it up A LOT more then with other branded shocks. Its been a year now and trust me there just as strong as the day I put them on and holding up perfectly.
2000 Dodge Grand Caravan Owner

I'm the second owner of 2000 Grand Caravan since late 2000. I bought it used with less than 15,000 miles and I have put in over 100,000 miles so far. I have 4 kids who are growing - getting heavier. I noticed that GC still fits 6 of us the best as far as mileage, comfort (ride quality) and cargo volume goes. I guess other "full size" minivan such as Honda Odyssey and/or Toyota Sienna would fit the bill as well. But all of these "maxi" minivans share the same Achilles' hill in my opinion - the weak rear spring/suspension. They have plenty of room and power but not enough "back bone" to carry the designed load. So, I've been looking for ways to augment the sagging rear suspension for a couple of years. I first installed a helper spring - a coil spring type - and that helped a bit (for a couple of years) but as kids were getting heavier I needed another (additional) solution. I didn't want to overload the van's total carrying capacity but when I added up the total weight of all passengers and cargo it was still FAR LESS than what Chrysler says it can handle - 1400 lbs. Yet, the rear suspension was still bottoming out. That's where this product came in. I figured that I will need to replace the worn rear shocks any way so I figured I couldn't lose. Amazon made everything very easy and they had the best price (about $40 per pair cheaper than my local national part chain store). The installation couldn't be easier. Only trouble was that I had a bit of hard time getting the 18 mm socket (not a common size, many sets jump from 17 to 19). I also used the jack at the rear suspension beam directly to jack up the van. I put up the jack stands on the body (where Dodge recommends to put) and moved the suspension up and down (while the body remained fixed) to fine tune the hole alignment to install the shocks. To make the removal of the old shocks easier, I also sprayed the penetrating oil on all 4 bolts a day before the installation. Again, the exposed shocks made the work so easy. The entire removal and installation process took about an hour.I've taken our semi regular out of state trip with as much stuff as we could pack and the rear suspension still had ample travel left with better handling to boot! Bonus point - empty van (with just the driver) still rides smooth enough and I believe it also helps with better gas mileage since the front tires can now be more firmly planted; reducing the loss of the traction and the resulting wasted wheel spin. Now, I'm thinking about getting a weight distributing hitch installed so I can carry more cargo BEHIND the rear instead on the top of the roof to reduce the wind drag. Something I could have never dreamt until I installed these shocks.Bottom line: If you like your Caravan for its versatility but hate the sagging rear end, get this product. You won't be sorry. The money saving from not needing to up grade to a bigger/heavier vehicle alone is well worth the effort in my book.
