As a loyal Logitech customer since the early 90s, I’ve purchased several products from Amazon and Best Buy to use a single keyboard and mouse across both my work laptop (remote work) and personal PC (casual gaming – World of Warships). Both devices share dual 34-inch monitors on one desk. I’ve also tried other brands with significant discounts but encountered quality and functionality issues.Amazon Purchases:• G915 Lightspeed• G502 Lightspeed• MX Mechanical Mini• MX Master 3sBest Buy Purchases:• G Pro X TKL• G903 Lightspeed• G Pro X Superlight 2All of these products have been returned. The Problem:Updated software (Logitech G Hub and Logi Options+) can cause deprecated or reduced functionality in older firmware-based peripherals. This can happen in several ways:1. Compatibility Changes: As software evolves, it may no longer fully support older hardware models. For example, G Hub is optimized for newer models like the G Pro X Superlight, but older devices like the G915 or G502 may not receive the same updates or features. As a result, older devices may lose functionality, such as the onboard memory feature on the G915, due to changes in the software and firmware code.2. Firmware Updates: When software updates occur, they may push firmware updates that alter the behavior of peripherals, sometimes removing or limiting older functions. For instance, the MX Master 3S will not pair with the MX Mechanical Mini, likely because they belong to different generations. Newer firmware can also change how memory, lighting, LEDs, button mappings, or profiles behave, making them incompatible with older devices.3. Driver, OS, and IT Support: Software updates can change how drivers interact with the OS, potentially breaking compatibility with older peripherals. Additionally, IT departments often don’t support third-party software that isn’t mission-critical. For example, high-DPI settings or customizable backlighting aren’t necessary for most corporate environments, and without Logitech software, the DPI on the Superlight defaults to 800.4. Feature Deprecation: Over time, software developers may remove features no longer deemed relevant or supported. This includes custom profiles or advanced features that are phased out as development focuses on newer devices.Suggestions for Logitech:• Sunset the Software: Consider moving to a web-based solution or embedding all functionality directly into the PCB. This would allow users to change lighting, create profiles, remap keys, or adjust DPI without relying on software.• Update the Micro-USB Connection: The micro-USB data connection is outdated. As G Hub is optimized for USB-C, it didn’t recognize the G502 Lightspeed or G915 when pairing them with the Pro X or Superlight receiver.• Improve Backlighting Control: Allow users to turn off the "smart backlight" on MX keyboards with a simple button or switch, as not all users need it to be automatic.

Few things I like about it:1. Easy connectivity to switch between devices2. Minimalistic Design3. Good battery life.4. Personally, I like the feel of the clicky switches.Switches are ultimately a preference choice. Personally, I tried all three of the switches and these are my recommendationIf I were to rank them based on typing feel, it would be Clicky -> Linear -> Tactile Quiet.Clicky: Best typing feel of them all, can accurately feel that I have pressed the button, noise is a bit loud so make sure to check with people around you before you decide to purchase it.Linear: Feels like a normal keyboard, instead of a mechanical one. However, it is very smooth and nice to type as well, noise is the smallest.Tactile Quiet: The weirdest feeling out of them all, this is supposed to be a compromise between the two so maybe that's why it feels weird, it's not mechanical enough that you get that satisfying feel and noise every time you press a key. So sometimes I am not sure if I have pressed it. On the other hand, it is not smooth enough to have a normal keyboard feel.

I love the mini mechanical keyboards. I had two I swapped out to prolong life, but it was time for a new one. I have the upright mouse (that I love) so decided to give the Logi MX Mini.I am a child of the 80's. Clicky mechanical keyboards were the norm. This one is satisfyingly clicky without being too loud. I do wish the keys were raised a little bit more. Unless I move my keyboard back my wrist rest is too high for it.The only issue I have so far is the back lighting. It's supposed to adapt to the ambient light in the room, but it doesn't. At all. Same complaint I see everyone has and (IMO) an endlessly irritating useless feature. For ME. You can control the brightness of the lighting, but cannot keep it lit. Backlighting WILL turn off by itself and according to the response from the Logitech rep on the reddit page it's a deliberate design feature. Supposedly it can sense room lighting and will turn back on when it senses a change, except it doesn't. Mine NEVER comes back on by itself. Oh, I keep it unplugged during the day and plug it back in at the end of the day. Same for my mouse.FYI My PC is in a room with six windows that are covered by light/heat blocking drapes. The only ambient light is my PC and whatever smidge creeps in between the wall and the drapes. The keyboard NEVER lights by itself. Not a feature I'm wanting, but the Logitech rep was very insistent that this is the reason we are unable to keep our keyboard lit if we want to. For me, this isn't a feature at all. At least leave WASD lit so I can rest my chin in my hand and read an article online without losing my keyboard lights. I haven't timed it, but in the couple of minutes it takes to read something the keyboard lights go out.Over all, I would love the keyboard if the lighting could actually be controlled. If adaptive lighting is the key feature you're looking for... in my experience it works in as much as it turns itself off.

About a dozen or more years ago when building my PC I chose to have the motherboard Bluetooth capable. I bought a Logitech K810 for its portability and lightness of weight. It has served me well.Time passes and the older Bluetooth just does not have the range or transfer speed of the new tech equipment. The K810 still works and has never had a battery replacement, but its essentially an antique. Fun to use casually though. This MX Mini is a bit heavier than the K810 and about as 'comfortable' to carry around as a 10 inch tablet. I do not do that even though the Bluetooth range is better and the security better with the "Bolt" USB plugin. I'm using this unit as an everyday keyboard for email and business use. The 'clicky' keys are a tactile and audio pleasure similar to my G815 gaming keyboard. Surely reminds me of the days working in a typing office pool, but without the carriage "Ding!"Well, I'll be back in 12 years or so to see what else is new on the Bluetooth keyboard range.

I use this keyboard as my main driver every single day for multiple hours and it has never failed me. I charge it once every 2 months and it holds charge very very well in the meantime. The wireless dongle works at lightspeed and the Bluetooth connectivity is very good, especially with the ability to connect to 3 different devices at the same time. Finally, the clicky version has a very satisfying and not annoying clickiness to it that makes typing on it very interesting and enjoyable. Overall a great keyboard which I would recommend to anyone without a doubt.
