I got this because I'm far sighted and reading long with glasses on gives me a headache. This is a great alternative. Only issue is that lights reflect off it, so you need to keep that in mind where you sit. But I've got 2 off them, and use them daily. Diffused lighting works best, e.g. lamp with lamp shade.

If you buy this for anything but a service entrance disco you will need a grounding bar.

Looked for a replacement to my missing OED dome magnifier. Tried ordering others but none were "right" but this one appears identical to the one issued, and I am very pleased to find it.

The clarity of this magnifier is outstanding and when factoring-in the weight, it's reasonable to assume that the magnifier is made of Chinese leaded crystal, just as the ad says. The dome shape collects more surounding light and slightly brightens the image underneath. Because of it's size, 96mm (not the advertised 100mm), it has a significant amount of weight. Dropping this on the ground or on your foot would do some damage. Unlike acrylic dome magnifiers, that have straight walls leading up to the dome, this crystal dome has no such feature, so sliding this magnifier off the printed material is the most effective way to remove it. I'm very satisfied with my purchased.

I used this as a disconnect box and to supply power for a separate outdoor gfci outlet box. The circuit breakers purchased separately worked perfect.I had to make a separate trip to the store to purchase a ground bar which i think should be included as this box rarely would be used to combine neutral and equipment ground together.

I bought this for my dad. The glass is big and of course heavy. No surprise for such a large crystal. Dad was impress as I gave him a 2.5 inch one years ago and this larger one is just way more functional. I also got a second one at the same time just in case he loses the first one. Just don't drop this on your foot. Take my words. It will hurt.

OMG, this is a dream tool if you work with Engineering diagrams regularly. It is a little difficult to pick up due to the circular nature and I always have to slide it to the edge of the table surface. But I'm so excited to have this tool to work with. Still not too heavy, magnifies perfectly, and comes in a nice storage box.
