This thing sucks! Half of the kernels shoot out with the popped corn in-popped. Plus it is so light it vibrates around to the point I had to hold it in place. Doesn’t make enough also, of course if 1/2 of the kernels didn’t shoot out in-popped mane it would….Microwave bags for me!

there is nothing i like about this popcorn maker, it must be poor design or was built for the cheap heavy popcorn you but at the dollar store. on the first batch over half of the kernals ended up in bowl, i use the amish baby white popcorn and it is a pain to mess with in this machine. already ordered a microwave bowl popcorn maker and will give this to some relative i don't like, or one that is cheap and won't have a problem with it.

That said, I noticed all of the popcorn poppers of this type suffer from the same exact design flaw which might be in part the depth of the section that pops the corn and the other, and quite possibly the main culprit is the top clear cover which (in my non-engineer estimation), should have come out another inch or so and the sides and top part should have continued downwards to the point the opening would be facing almost the counter. This suggestions might have not only improve the10+% failed pops and also minimize or even eliminate runaways.I resolve the issue by cutting out a cardboard to cover 3 sides of my 10"x10" wood bucket (with approximately 3" depth) I use with this popper. Works really well. If you can find a container that is deep enough to go all the way up the the lip of the top cover, then I reckon it might work even better. Also, I put a tablespoon more than what the plastic measuring cup it comes with to measure how much corn to put in. By adding the extra corn, load gets a little heavier which drops the 10-12% pop failure to about 5-6%.
