I like a dedicated alarm clock, I can't use my phone and I want one that displays the time so I don't also need a clock. I also wanted it to be a radio for when I want that. I wanted it to have the ability to set two alarms. I wanted it to be made by an English speaking company. All that said, this is a great alarm clock that fits those parameters. It has a few extras like the AUX port, temperature, and the projector but they aren't why I'm writing this review; it's because after looking at and trying many alarms clocks, I finally found one that understands I don't want a usb port or any of that nonsense, I need an alarm clock first and foremost. It dims the screen to an acceptable level and has intuitive controls, that HUGE. Attention to detail like the ability to set a date range for when the alarm times are, another MASSIVE win. Separate station settings per alarm is not a feature I cared about as I like the standard beeping but having it is such a sign of QUALITY. It's a $30 dollar alarm clock, why do I care so much? I am passionate enough to write a review because it really does its best to be an ALARM CLOCK over anything else: it's not a radio first, it's not a power brick for your phone, and it's not a charging pad either, it's an alarm clock. It's designed with quality and functionality in mind, with a clear attention to detail I can't over state. I hate bright lights, I really hope it can dim; it can, and from what I can tell, one mode turns off the backlight do that at night, meaning it doesn't glow at all if you don't want it to. These are the clear signs of development and thoughtful design I DESPERATELY wanted and couldn't find, until I found this alarm clock. I'm sorry if this doesn't make much sense but I am writing this after being hit with the inspiration that I have to share how I feel about this clock in hopes others also buy it because I'm sure they'll be blown away as well.

So far it has been a great purchase. The clock set the time itself. Also the long lasting thin battery was great as well, so I don't have to rely on a 9v. My favorite part is the projecting of the time on the ceiling. My be sits up high from my night stand and this keep me from having to roll over to see the time and I was able to eliminate an extra clock that I had on the other side of my bedroom just so I wouldn't have to roll over. The projection also flips 180 degrees and can also project the temperature inside the house, or the time but not at the same instance, you have to choose. Also, the image projected is still in the old style of clocks that are digital with red numbers. I do think the temperature feature is misleading when purchasing this clock. It seems to only tell the temperature inside the house (which I already know what it is cause I set it). Also, the alarm feature to be able to set just the m-f or just the weekend or just one day is nice. However, I do feel that there is a drawback to that because there are two alarms that you can set and designate each as m-f, sat-sun, or a specific day of the week, but it's more difficult to set for a random one off day that you so happen to have an early morning appointment before work. You would have to reprogram one of your two alarms just for that one instance and then go back later and change it back. It would be neat if there could be like a one instance alarm feature. It does though come with a nap feature that goes from 90 mins downward. Some reviews before were talking about the display screen being too bright but it does allow you to have the screen -bright,-dimmed, -or back light off. So if the screen is too bright then dimm it or hit the button again to turn the back light off. Then it looks like a watch without a backlight. The projection still work even without the back light. Another feature that would have been nice that they should add in the future is the ability to increase the projected size of the clock time. You can currently change the focus, but for some people like me who wears glasses and wake up in the middle of the night without them on, being able to blow up the size of the image without sitting to clock lower to the ground would be a nice touch to add. Although with mine on my nightstand I can see it just fine but being nearsighted when I don't have my glasses on it can be a little less clear, and I am thinking this could be a problem for some especially if you have a low ceiling or wall that is not far away enough. Also, as a person who's previous clock alarm was a sonic alarm loud alarm with bed vibration (alarm clock made with people hard of hearing in mind) I was use to a loud alarm because I am a hard sleeper. This alarm is rather mild compared to that, it would have been nice to have a volume adjustment to the alarm loudness so I could amp it up a little bit. However, it still wakes me up, so I am good with it. Overall, I think it's a great clock for the money, let's just see how long it last. (Picture taken from my bed of the projected time, and picture of the clock on dimmed display)

For the price, this is a pretty darn good alarm clock radio.First the cons:- The smooth shiny plastic gives it a sort of cheap appearance, but it seems durable enough.- Some of the reviewers complained that the speaker isn't good quality. I'd say that's not entirely accurate. The sound is quite clear also but somewhat penetrating. My complaint is with the volume levels that are available. You can select 0 for off, or 1-10 for loudness. The problem with 1 is that it's too loud. 1 is the lowest volume level and yet it's loud enough to be a 4 or 5. If you're like most people you keep your clock radio within 6 feet of your bed. Volume level 1 if fine for waking up to music, but if you like to fall asleep to music, you'll probably find even the lowest volume level too loud.- You'll need to keep the instruction manual handy. Whatever you do DON'T LOSE IT!!! Setting this thing is a piece of cake when you have the instructions, but without them it would be quite difficult.- They used a blue backlight, which is too bright at night, even on the lowest setting. Luckily you can turn this off completely and just use the red projection (and you can even turn that off). The red projection isn't a problem at all. When will companies learn to use red backlighting for clocks instead of blue?Okay, now the pros:- Honestly, this thing works great. I love that the time is set for you right out of the box. All I had to do was choose my timezone. The temperature is a nice touch.- Although the speaker is a bit loud to fall asleep to music to, the sound is pretty clear, and it gets better AM reception than some of the more expensive radios I've purchased in the past. FM works great too.- I love the projection feature, which is why I purchased this unit in the first place. You can point it forward or back, and there's a button to flip/change the clock orientation, depending on which way it's pointing. There's also a focus knob, so you can adjust it accordingly. I have it projecting about 10' away onto the wall, but I can stick my hand out in front of the beam to read the time off my palm.- You can configure 2 different alarms, and you can choose which days of the week they're effective on. I haven't tried the buzzer option (as I don't like the traditional jarring sound they usually make), but the radio on volume level 1 is quite reliable.- The engineers thought about pretty much everything. You can turn the backlight or projection on or off, change the projected clock orientation, and even set the alarm to a radio station other than the one that you currently have dialed in.Despite some of it's shortcomings, this is a great clock radio. For $30 you'll have a hard time finding a better product with this many features.
