OK. How much can you love a shore power cord?A bunch in my case..We use our boat alot. Using conventional shore power cords with a ring nut to tighten down the connection, disconnecting the boat end of the cord is slightly time consuming, but hooking it back up was a real bear for me. I would come in the slip and hook the power up, but it was rare when the threads lined up correctly and the ring nut spun down. Usually I would start and restart a number of or even many times to get the threads lined up and then, finally with the threads aligned, the ring nut would spin down quickly. Hooking the boat end of the shore power cords was never fun. Now, however, with the boat end EEL grips on the Marinco cable....it is frighteningly easy, fast, and actually a pleasure! Grip the handles, squeeze, insert so that the metal plug prongs line up (always an easy alignment), twist, release the handles, and walk away! Reduces my time 70-85% for hooking up.I don't like yellow cords. I bought the white. It is gorgeous, but I am fearful of the dues to be paid down the road for having a white ....anything.....in a marine environment. It's got to get dirty. I only have my cables a month, so I haven't seen the dirt manifest yet, but I know it is coming.Magic erasers I am hoping?

hello, since the electrical outlet on our dock is farther away than our normal 50 ft. cord can reach, this product will give us just enough to fit perfectly. marinco makes quality products and this new EEL version is top notch. i use a Marinco Sealing Collar and 100R Threaded Ring as well as a MARINCO 500R THREADED RING FOR 50-AMP SYSTEMS to make a weather tight seal between each of the new EEl shorepower cords. the 500 r says 50 amp, but the EEl is a little larger, so the 500r fits perfectly. it fits on the male end and the 100r set screws onto the female end. when both screwed together, it is weather tight and neat looking. no sleeve or covering necessary. 50 ft. + 25 ft. is fine for no electrical amp loss because of the longer run to the boat. marinco advises no longer when connecting two together. great product and service.
