This is a welcome old fashioned detective Raymond Chandler private dick story set in the bygone era of Hollywood. It’s no Chinatown but a good way to spend 109 minutes of one’s time. Liam Neeson fits into the gloves of Marlowe like an old professional. Marlowe commands the screen and Diane Kruger as the femme fatale seeking the services of Marlowe to find a missing boyfriend that leads to the highest level of a powerful film studio. Fun watch with excellent support characters and guilty pleasure violence throughout!
