I am a pediatric occupational therapist and I use these weights to help children stabilize their hands when doing fine motor tasks like writing, doing art work. I also use them when doing gross motor tasks like swinging or learning to walk on stilts. Because these weights put weight on the back of their hands, It stabilizes their hands while leaving their palms and fingers tfree o hold a pencil, grasp a swing rope, pick up tiny objects, button a shirt, and so much more. Furthermore, you can add or remove a weight to individualize the amout of weights used . When you remove all the weights, the glove is easiloy washable in a washing machine. I've used similar weights for years, but these are the most versatile and best weights I have ever found. I also love that these weighted gloves are available in a number of differrent sizes. An outstanding product.
