This "value line" Mazda oil filter seemed to work fine, but I prefer the filters with the rounded o-ring vs. the flat style gasket that's on this filter. This style seems to be more prone to fusing to the filter housing and separating from the oil filter when the filter is removed. I'll be going back to the "WPE" version others have mentioned, as it has the o-ring.

Mazda has/had three different oil filters for the same applications.1. The original PE01-14-302A, and PE01-14-302B made in Japan, by Roki, is nearly impossible to find2. The Thailand made 1WPE-14-302, which is slightly smaller in diameter then the original PE01-14-302A. My Mazda dealer uses this version for oil changes.3. This one, the Mexican made PE01-14-302A-MV, so called “value line”, which doesn’t have a box, just a shrink-wrap, and has the same diameter as the original, Japanese version. Some speculate that this is made by Wix, which makes one of the highest quality filters on the market. My personal preference is the Japanese version, followed by this Mexican made, and then the Thailand made one, but any one of them are perfectly fine Mazda OEM filters. My car is a 2017 Mazda 3 with the 2.0 Skyactive engine, which uses the same filter. The filter shipped fast, and comes directly from the seller, so it is not subjected to the shipping delay like everything else coming from an Amazon warehouse.
