It's been suggested that I mention light weight, durability, and value - so it's hard to give higher praise than my family practically buys them in bulk, not a single one has broken in over 6 years of daily use, and they are so light and useful we have at least one on every bag we own.They also look great, are easy to use, and have never accidentally detached.While not the stuff of adventure, my family lives in a city so we do all our shopping on foot.Our backpacks, fanny packs, and purses all have at least one of these carabiners attached at all times so we can strap on grocery bags and water bottles as needed.They're so light that even having 6 on hand is not a noticeable weight, and I have yet to have one fail on me - nylon reusable bags have broken while secured by one of these carabiners, but the carabiner was always fine.I've just ordered another 6 because I'm going for long walks with my infant son in a carrier so I have to use a fanny pack for our supplies. It has nylon loops on the outside so, "borrowing" these carabiners from my family's other bags, we hit the road with everything we need - no diaper bag or stroller required.And I couldn't do it without the Metolius FS Mini II.

There is always use for a carabiner. My friends and I swap out the stock carabiners on our hammocks for better ones, like these because of their high quality and reliability. A good carabiner can turn an ok hammock into a very good and safe hammock.

Rated for climbing, although I would not use them for that - they are still too light in weight for my liking and they can only support the load in the linear position. I like using equipment rated for 2X to 4X times the load I foresee and I insist on locking clips before I would trust my life with them. Still, these are great clips and are EXCELLENT for attaching gear to ropes or to pack.I highly recommend them in place of the cheap, junky clips that hardware stores sell for key rings and tools.
