This is a much better wine key for the price than a couple others I purchased. I like this small style opener and I keep a couple laying around the house for indoor or outdoor use. (I have a "nice" one which I bought for $40, which is better). The parts on this one a sturdier and less prone to rust and it frankly works better than other similar wine keys at this price...including those "dressed" up with wood handles. However, keep in mind that a wine is not for everyone, It is not rocket science, but you do have to learn how to use these tools properly...a 5 minute you-tube video should do. I would note that many are more comfortable with the larger wing-type corkscrew.

This corkscrew looks simple and antiquated but you need nothing else! You can but foils and remove corks in a snap! I’ve owned many corkscrew and this particular one is my favorite. The screw is sharp and burrows into your cork without much effort. It also doesn’t obliterate them because it seems to be a touch thinner than other screws. The two step lever is also fantastic so you never have to yank at the cork. Just adjust it and keep levering until the cork pops out. I love it!! It’s a quality tool that is simple and it works every time.

First my summary: Best. Corkscrew. EVER. Now, details. This is the second Zippity I have purchased for my own use. After years of constant use the first one somehow came apart. (Note: I felt no remorse having to replace it after such a long time of flawless service.) I ordered a replacement and was amazed to find I had been fooled by a knock-off. It was called a Rabbit but there was no comparison to the real item! Buyer beware! This real deal is in a class by itself. This site will likely prevent me from inserting a link to the counterfeit item (also purchased from Amazon) so I will describe the differences.First off, both the genuine Rabbit Zippitys I received are red; the other is black. The real one has "rabbit 2 step Patent" stamped into the metal; the other just says "rabbit". The foil cutter on the real one is terrific and folds automatically when you open the corkscrew; the other does not. Both units appear to have a hinge to ease pulling of corks; the imposter does not move; the real deal makes opening a bottle a pleasure every time. The actual screw on the real unit glides through corks effortlessly; the other does not. Finish is also not equal: the real Rabbit Zippity is lovely to look at, shiny red and silver metal with a bit of black plastic under the screw like a little nest; there is a convenient hole at the end to hang on a hook if you wish. There are no sharp points or edges to catch on something if you keep it in your pocket. All moving parts work smoothly and effortlessly; weighs 2 3/8 oz.The knock-off is painted in a satin black finish that started rubbing off immediately. The moving parts have been so tight I had trouble operating it, and even had to try WD-40 on all the joints. This one weighs in at a hefty 3 3/4 ozs, a big difference in your pocket and no hanging loop, and there are sharp metal edges sticking out; the screw itself does not fold close to the main handle and is a safety hazard! It's shape is significantly bulkier. But the worst point on that sad puppy is that every time I use it, no matter the bottle, it grinds against the glass with a terrible sound and I fear bits of glass are ending up in the first pour. Unacceptable!!! And my attempt to reach customer service went unanswered.I did my homework and realized my mistake and promptly reordered this Rabbit Zippity 2-step and could not be happier.

Working in the restaurant business this beats all other corkscrews, hears why: First off its double hinged which means quicker bottle opening and less chances of corks getting torn in half, the bottle cap opener is facing the opposite direction than all other waiter corkscrews this lets you hold onto the bottle cap as you pop it off so it doesn't drop, the lever hinge is perfectly stiff on other corkscrews it might be too stiff which makes it hard to open with one hand or it might be too loose which is annoying because as you turn the corkscrew into a cork the lever will dangle and get in the way, this one stays where you put it. the lever is design to push the foil cutter back in automatically, this is good because theres less chance of stabbing or cutting yourself or cutting your pocket or apron if you forget to fold the knife back in. Its thin, nothing more annoying than an overly clunky corkscrew. It's durable a friend of mine who is a bartender used it everyday for about five years and it still works perfectly the only thing that slightly wore out was the knife, but thats after opening about ten to fifteen bottles of wine every day for 5 years.
