I switched from glass to these cups for pulling espresso shots and I like them a lot!

This has definitely simplified my coffee routine. I used to rely on a scale to measure the right amount of espresso for a 1:2 ratio, but fitting both the coffee scale and my latte mug under the machine was such a hassle. I ended up buying a set of two—one for weighing coffee grounds and the other for collecting the espresso shot. Once you get a feel for how much espresso you need, you can pretty much eyeball it without the scale _ unless you change your coffee bean. The handle and spout make it super easy to pour into a cup without any mess. Super easy to wash as well, so highly recommend!

My old glass espresso cup broke when it got dropped in the sink while cleaning, so decided to try and find a less delicate material which wasn't plastic. This fit the bill. It holds enough for a double shot and the mouth is wide enough that the pour doesn't miss the inside, a problem I had with my previous one if I didn't put it under the spout just right. It's easy to clean and doesn't appear to scratch easily.

These mini cups, as I classify them, are cute, interesting, and more essentially a pure novelty. Not your perfect espresso extraction tool, but they work. As of now, they are a good addition for anyone wishing an add-on to your espresso paraphernalia. Especially if you are interested in the extracted coffee in the cup and not the view of the extraction (which most espresso makers cherish). For me, and others, it's the crema and espresso separation seek. Again, to some this may not be a huge deal. For me? It's not a deal breaker, but when I use a 'new' package of espresso and extract the first draw, I want to see that crema and the layers I get to make sure a "perfect" draw and delicate blend. Over-all, these are workable cups and the markings (scale) inside is functional if you wish to get measurement over grams. I can see where some may wish to use these cups and make for good for 'small' measurements for things like salad dressings, condiments, fluid measurements, etc. Which some do. Final observation? They were initially purchased strictly for espresso extractions. With some adjustment, they do just that and then some. For espresso, however, the topic of conversation centers around the espresso itself, and goes on from there. For me, this soon evolves, and the purpose comes into play and thus far, the extraction (I go by weight), plays out. Which simply means, any vessel capable of capturing espresso will and does work. They are delicate, made of good materials, and perfect for what they were intended to provide. I have espresso pitchers made of the same materials and over the course of time, the paint wears off. As these are new, that isn't visible, but I suspect with continued use, and banging, it will. Eventually will need a clear espresso cup with handles, and I will keep my search options open. For now, these work, they serve well, and over time will find a home with the rest of the espresso/grinder paraphernalia. Why four stars? They simply are not made of glass and present with a clear view of the espresso, but that doesn't mean these cups are bad. Just depends on what you want and what you are looking for. If these were glass? Then the four to five would be there.....UPDATE: After a period of use, and despite the cuteness, the cups are for all purposes useless. Now I say this as they are useless for me. The distance from the brew sprout to the actual cup is a huge factor. The espresso coming out the brew group is like trying to put a stream of liquid into a thimble. Unless you are exact, it isn't going to happen. At least without a huge mess. Which, for me, is about half the time. And no, with other cups in use, the odds lessen to probably less than one in hundred, maybe. I will keep them around as 'cute' cups and a conversation piece, but as for actual use? I will look for other options that are more practical and less messy. I will go back to my original cups until I have time to find others. Consensus? They are cute cups, and in some situations, they may be useful such as for "other" liquids but as for espresso? Will take some more practice "hitting the target".
