Microsoft peripherals, like mice and keyboards, are the best because they are well built, and use Microsoft's drivers and applications. When you use third party drivers and software then you are at the mercy of these companies. I had a keyboard that would always communicate with the manufacturer and bother me for updates, even when there was no software installed! There were constant bugs with the updates. The biggest danger of being hacked comes from drivers.The MS software is the best because there are more features, such as key assignments. This keyboard is wired so it is unlikely to be the victim of key loggers, unlike bluetooth keyboards. The weight of this keyboard is very low considering that is so sturdy, and offers multimedia keys. There are no other wired keyboards that have multimedia keys, unless they are cheap garbage, and the key lettering wears off, like so many others do. Enjoy having the best keyboard!

I have been actively using this keyboard and mouse for more than 3 years with both a PC and a Mac and very happy with it! It's simple, comfortable, reliable and just great. An amazing value for its price.

The keyboard is very good but the mouse makes a lot of noise.
