I had an older audio interface that I was using to record a radio show with and it went belly-up on me after using it for maybe a little over a week. It was used when I got it so I can't complain. I knew I needed something else and in the town I live in, I had absolutely ZERO options (wish I had known that ahead of time). So I went searching and decided to go with the midiplus.For the price it is an exceptional deal. But I have to point out though, after having worked in broadcasting for 30+ years, I am acutely aware of what exceptional audio sounds like. Now keep in mind that it's a combination of many different things including the kind of mic you are using, the processing, your environment and soforth...however, keeping in mind the cost of this interface, I knew what I was getting and wasn't expecting the quality I get out of the normal control board and sound processor and expensive mic that I use to do my radio show with.With that being said, I still wished I had spent a little extra for audio quality in general. Yes, this sounds perfectly usable and for personal podcasts and recording at home for fun, it really does the job pretty well. But for professional users...? Well I wouldn't go that far...in fact, I don't think it comes close to be entirely honest. Again, temper that with the fact that I am crazy aware of what pristine audio sounds like, and that makes my standards probably a bit above the norm. But all in all, it really depends on what you plan to use it for in the long run. A really great mic will make a HUGE difference when using this however. But even that won't make all the difference, and it's important to understand this.So in short, for the money, it does the job. But don't expect studio quality, even if you use a ridiculously great microphone.

This was supposed to be the last piece for a pedal board I am building. Fit perfectly and looked great. In fact I designed the entire enclosure around it. Windows generic drivers do not work with the program I am using so I had to find the actual drivers. The Drivers on the midiplus website for the smart face 2 made everything worse. Actually had to reinstall windows because the drivers for the smart face 2 irreversibly jacked up my sound settings. Buying this pos set me back days. Fkn garbage.

I like everything about this interface except no volume for the heaphones.

Gotta start out by saying THIS THING IS GREAT. But first here's what I EXPECTED from a $55 USB interface. 1) Cheap plastic housing. 2) Crappy loose knobs 3) noisy 4) Unbearable latency. But I thought what the hell for $55 bucks I can use it for tracking idea/tinkering material for the idea file on the laptop. Holy Hell! This thing is none of the above! It's all metal housing is built like a battleship. Knobs and jacks are solid. Don't feel like I gotta be "careful" with them. Inputs have no noise or hum. Pre's are great at this price point. As for latency, I though since it used windows audio drivers it would be garbage. Not true. I set the latency down to 10mS and there was no buffering problems AT ALL. Played my Dean though Studio One Pro using Positive Gear's Bias FX and it sounded great. I actually think this thing is equivalent or better than my Focusrite Scarlett. And for $55??!!In Summary: This deals like a broke dick....YOU JUST CAN'T BEAT IT!! If you're in the market for a great interface at a great price, get it.
