I have been coaching soccer for the past ten years and these are hands down, the best training ball that you can buy and especially for the low price. I have used these Mikasa balls since we needed size 3 balls. In addition, we have used all of the other big name brands simply because are local sporting goods store always offers a soccer kit at the beginning of each season that always includes a ball. These balls consistently outlast every other ball we have used. They have could touch and feel for every age that is learning to play soccer. This may be a little softer than will be used in the 14 and up ages but it still makes a great training ball. These are all of things that make it a great training ball. First, they last for a long time. I am serious when I say I have some of these that are at least 8-10 years old. Even the size 5 balls that have been used for the last 3 years in a club setting are still going strong. They do not just last in that they keep holding air. They also keep their shape. I often end up using these in the game, and I have yet to have a ref ask for different ball when he spins it in the air. They also do not soak up all the water on wet fields. The outer covering resists the urge to suck up the water which keeps the balls from getting heavy. The covering also stays in place. These do not crack, split, separate at the seam, or have the outer covering peel off of them.I did not receive any discounts, merchandise, or compensation for my review of these Mikasa soccer balls. If you are coaching and need good training balls that are reliable and will last, then get over the urge to buy expensive bigger brands. None of them last as long as these.

I owned many soccer balls as a kid (husband reviewing) , from the Adidas tango to the Voit that was our tournament ball, but the Mikasa is dear to my hear with it's simple design and soft feel for the streets or the grass in the park. The Mikasa is great for serious play or especially for juggling around the house. It is not a "plasticky" or heavy feeling when wet. The Mikasa is now my daughter's favorite ball, she's used it from U6- to now U8. The best quality and the best price.

This ball will surprise you - I've owned a hundred if I've own a dozen and this one has outlasted and outperformed many bigger names and more expensive. It is a great training ball that has been reliable, holds air very well/better than most, great touch and feel, true to size. Very good value.
