I got bunch of codes and errors. On Ebay you can buy it for 25 usd. Way too expensive.

Arrived with CD that was not readable, but seller replied very promptly and provided a link to download all software. Was able to install it on my Win 11 laptop and program new key for my lexus rx350 2016.

Let me start with this. I’ve been doing IT work for 25 years so I know my way around computers. Even with that, this was somewhat of a challenge to make work. I can see why it says “frequently returned item”. It does work though. There is a short video on setting this up on the included CD and could be much better if it was in English and not in Chinese. Things to do before installing the software and you can Google how to do each step depending on your OS. I will write this for Windows. Turn OFF Windows defender and any other antivirus software you have running. Turn off Windows firewall. This allows communication between port and laptop. Optional thing would be to get a USB extension cable. The cable they send is short and you will need extra to close door with cable plugged in. After installing software they send on a mini-CD and choosing the driver to use from the drop down menu, make sure key in the car is set to ON. This will let the software import the model number and engine type. The car does not need to be running in order to use the software but can be. If you have done everything correctly you should be able to make changes to your cars internal settings. Pro tip: there is a short explanation of what setting you are changing in the lower left hand box on the settings screen. I’ve only started fiddling with this but for $38 it only takes one setting to change to pay for itself. It would be much nicer and easier if Toyota/Lexus would sell a home version of this software without having to do all this monkey business. I guess if they did that, then people would not have to go to the dealer to change settings and buy a new car. Last words of advice. Take your time. Read as much as you can about how to do this and why. I can’t wait to get in deep and changing settings. Good luck if you end up buying this cable.

The cable itself, the J2534, worked great for using Techstream. But the issue arises because this product is MEANT to be used with a system older than Windows 10, so here's how I got past that with my W11 Laptop.The CD didn't work, and I honestly don't want to use the sellers download even though it may work okay, so here's what I did.Search up on Google, "How-To: TechStream In 5 Minutes" and the first result should be the IH8MUD forum. THIS GUIDE IS SAFE AND VETTED! Follow the instructions, download VirtualBox, download Techstream with the link, and you will HAVE to use the virtual machine because it mimics Windows XP. On VirtualBox if Techstream keeps aborting/won't load, right click on the "machine" or Techstream, settings, Audio, and disable the audio. It should work okay now.Goodluck and happy Techstream using!
