I love the rotating lead feature on the Uni pencils but it’s nice to be able to switch it to hold if need be! The grip on the pencil is wry comfortable! Love the colour too

Kuru Toga standard design in a wide plastic body. Plastic is smooth and does not feel cheap. No loose component sound.Rubber grip feels great for extended writing. Locking in standard more for cursive or drawing lines, changing to clutch system for lettering. Locking involves twisting the pocket clip clockwise to lock in standard, counter clockwise to restore clutch gears. It is very smooth, sturdy and makes me want to use pencil as a primary writing tool again.Have Roulette and Gel Switch models, the gel switch is in my daily work kit, for its excellent feel in hand and extended use. The wider body also more comfortable. (Hand = Medium mechanixwear, or size 9.) I also hold very firm, lots of pressure when holding pencil in hand. Gel makes it feel great.

It's absolutely amazing. Firstly.. I much prefer the gel grip to other pencils. Uni is seriously onto something here. The rotating lead creates such neat looking notes. I've never seen or experienced anything like this. This technology is seriously awesome. You never have to re-adjust. Also.. writing feels differently with it. It doesn't feel like your dragging graphite across a page anymore. It glides. And all of your lines look crisp and clean. The weakness of this pencil is it's ability to break lead. That's really not so much the pencil's fault but if it was upgraded with a sliding sleeve.. that would be cool. Honestly, I cycle between this pencil, the uni alpha gel original, and a pentel orenz nero. The alpha original has a wonderful slim grip. This is a bit on the hefty side with the turning engine. The orenz never - ever - breaks lead. That's because it has a sliding sleeve. It also auto-advances which is awesome.I really enjoy all 3 of them. When I pick up this pencil though, I feel like I'm returning home. The sensation of writing is unparalleled.

Unlike other uni kuru toga series (uni kuru toga, uni kuru toga advance, uni kuru toga advanced upgrade, etc), this one has a COMFY grip, the others just give you a piece of plastic or metal with some holes for 'slip resistance' and yes, the rotating mech for others help write but if the mechanical pencil ain't even comfy enough to write with for too long, then I ain't buying it. This one, however, uses a standard uni kuru toga mechanism but has a double-layered gel and a rotation lock. Another good thing was that the back would not easily fall off like the other ones. also tip, if you are buying uni-ball's mechanical pencils, try getting a Japanese refill from Daiso or smth, its a lot cheaper than buying online and it is doesn't shed the refill piece. if you don't want to buy this one, try getting like an uni kuru toga advance (normal) because it has a 2x faster rotation which is perfect or get the normal toga if you are going for budget.
