Never had one of these before. But I did want to try this, I've been keeping an eye out for coyotes around my farm and this has been a huge help! Easy to use and set up. Lens quality is fantastic! Works great! Durable and well made. Great value for your money in my opinion. Easy to adjust and focus.

Having used several different types of thermal optics, I can say that this one is a good budget option, and would suit you well if you aren't trying to use it over long distances. Within about a hundred yards or under, you can absolutely make out heat sources and people and animals, but beyond that they just aren't that great. You have to understand though, these aren't packed as full of features as some of the high end thermal optics, but you wouldn't expect them to be for the price you get these. I really like that you can switch through several color modes for the temperatures you're looking for. One anomaly that I don't care for with this particular monocular is that there seems to be a distortion based on where your eye is in the viewfinder. What I mean is, if you move your eye out of the center of the viewfinder and gaze to the side a bit, you see some heat signatures that aren't visible when viewing straight on. I don't know what to attribute that to, but it's something to be aware of. I've been using these in both a public safety setting, as well a predator hunting setting, and they are acceptable for both uses, but something with a more powerful sensor would be better for me in a hunting setting.

Image quality better than expected but God forbid you bump it up against your leg or something very likely to break. Literally didn't drop it or anything was walking hit my leg a little bit not hard and now it's got like lines in it. But prior to that I was very happy with it

I bought this to help track deer after shooting. The literal day we got it we shot a deer and this thing helped us find it without tracking at all. Clear vision, has good night vision as with the thermal. A+. May buy another for a spare if ever a sale on them I liked it that much.
