Will work for most applications, however, I chose this motor drive over the others because the images on the seller's page showed that the shaft had a female thread on it's tip. That would make it more versitile. However, when I received the motor drive, I immediately noticed that it in fact did not have that one feature that made me choose this motor over others. I am bit disappointed however, not to the point of wanting to return it. It will do most jobs. Thus the 4 stars! On an upnote, the price is very attractive (-:

Works as advertised, quiet, 1.5 or so rpms. 3 foot line cord and not 10 as stated. The mounting bezel has holes punched out that matches the round metal cover plates used on octagonal electrical boxes(at least in Canada). This means you can seal the unit off with an off the shelf round plate and it screws into a standard electrical ceiling octagonal box. This makes installation really easy vs some of the other unit shown with 3 holes punched out. I am using them in my plant nursery to spin hanging plants. 10 pound plants, no problem

I had purchased several battery powered mirror ball motors in the past and all were WAY too fast. The slowest battery powered one I could find was 12-15 RPM. This one, at 1.5 RPM, is perfect! It requires an electrical outlet with ground but I made it work by tapping power from my recessed lights and adding a screw in plug adapter. Worked great!
