We used these between cars on a cross country road trip! I drove a U-Haul with a car trailer attached and the other car was my lane-changing guide. These walkies were perfect and helped us communicate safely. Battery life was good- I only had to charge them once on the three day trip. The flashlight is great too for late night stops. Range was pretty good. Driving through busy cities we had no issues. 10/10 would recommend.

Plus: great form factor and color, the range is decent, they are truly splash resistant, and the USB-C charging plug is a big plus. The case they came in is awesome, too, which holds the radios annd all accessories. The built-in flash light (white and red) is a useful feature, too.Minus: battery life is poor, they hardly get through the day even on standby mode. They came with two pairs of batteries, which is great, but you need a screwdriver (!) to open the battery compartment! Also, the clip is too tight and not very flexible.

Not that I have had the best two-way radios in the past, but they never worked well for me. My main use is for car trips where I am caravanning with several other cars. Talking back and forth about issues and rest stops. Talking about where to eat. Things like that. Previously I could barely make out what was being said and so I settled to just watch what the cars in front of me did and follow. If I needed to get off for a potty break, I would pass everyone and then get off so they could see what I was doing. Not this time! I could talk with everyone; I could hear and understand. This is what I expected two-way radios to be like. Excellent for me.

Not sure quite how to rate this product, as I like the design and functions of these radios, but one of the radios in a two radio set failed rather quickly (in the middle of the canoe trip I bought these radios for - rather inconvenient). I bought these radios for a 10 day canoe trip so that boats on the trip could keep in communication.Pluses: I like the waterproof design, the fact that they have a "weather radio" function, and have a dual battery option - they can use either AAA batteries or the included NiCad rechargeable battery packs. On the canoe trip in question, I was able to keep the radios charged using a solar panel (until one of them stopped working).Minuses: Only one - one of the two radios stopped working after about five days on the trip. The problem appears to be the on/off switch, which must be a relay. Initially, I could not turn the radio off. So, I removed the batteries; that did turn it off. Then it would not turn back on.I do not know if this was/is a "one off" or rare problem. I only know it caused a lot of problems for me.
