This cage is precisely machined to allow the camera to slide into position without any effort. With the top hinged door closed the camera is unable to move around at all and the whole cage does a good job of protecting the edges and ends of the camera body. The fit and finish of this CNC-machined assembly is perfect as is pretty typical with Neewer products.The base has a standard 1/4" threaded hole for attachment to tripods or handles/sticks. It also has two hinged brackets that can fold down for attachment to any GoPro-compatible accessories. The spring retention of these brackets in the retracted position is very light but I did not see any tendency for them to fall down under their own weight when the camera was held vertically.The lens protector is made of thick silicone and provides plenty of protection not only for the lenses but it also prevents most of the cage from resting or scraping on surfaces as long as the camera is attached to a handle or selfie stick. This silicone is not the usual grippy type that can be difficult to slide over smooth objects. It has an unusual feel (for silicone) that slips onto the cage easily, although it is best to squeeze the sides of the cover to open it so that it doesn't get much of a chance to abrade any dust or dirt on the lenses.When you look at how many processes had to go into the manufacture of this cage the price seems pretty cheap. It's very nicely made and in my opinion worth the price. Including a zippered case that would could contain the camera with the cage installed would have sweetened the deal, but I probably would opt for a case that can also hold a handle and some batteries.

If you have an X4, yeah, you need this.I took several photos to verify the cage is "invisible" in my 360's, and indeed, it was.Excellent fit and finish, I LOVE the rubber cap, which STAYS PUT even being pulled in and out of my camera bag, on counters, on the seat next to me in the car, everywhere. It also fits great over the top of my protective lens caps, which surprised me.Ready for connecting to a tripod with a quality all-metal cage and well machined female 1/4inch threading. Side mounted standard hot-shoe and another 1/4 threaded female adapter. It has fold-down two-finger clips for using on the go-pro standardized mounts as well. I also like the solid knuckled screw post to securely lock down the cage.Easy access to all things important on your X4, with the only items that "clips" the cage being the cover over the USB-C port - but if you look at it closely, NEEWER's engineers prioritized the opening for the battery... which was the right call. That works great and you can quickly and easily slip the battery in and out, access the SD Card, etc without any trouble in my opinion.The only "catch" or issue I have at all with this cage is that the rubber cap... which I do love... is a bit hard to take off one handed or even with cold fingers once in place and partially or mostly due to the protective lens covers I think. This is not bad, but I do find myself working it more than I'd anticipate each time (and it goes on and off multiple times every time I use the camera). I think it's more beneficial to "fight" that than to have it slipping off unintentionally, so I accept this as a feature!Have a look at my photos - this is the real deal and another super value - and engineered value - from NEEWER.
