These reptile cages are the best thing since sliced bread. The fact it can compete with the high end PVC cages at the price point? There is no other that can even come close to offering a light weight, NOT glass, enclosure at the sizes available for only $149. I’m so happy I found these as an alternative to PVC cages because the cost is just so high for the size I need. I bought one cheaper than the smaller glass one my snakes are in now!I was able to pick it up with ease and take it upstairs alone! A 36in cage! I had to make modifications of course since I need a more humid environment for my ball pythons but a little bead of silicone is no big deal. I was able to put my wires through the slates and used insulation tape on the top of the cage to lock in humidity. Still no big deal.I came back to buy a small one for my hognose snake and he advised the small is indeed much smaller than the medium! Which I expected but others may not. Same construction and even easier instructions. You can’t get better than these for the price too! This price point allows people to get adequately sized enclosures for their animals because ALL the others are so darn expensive! Some not even being worth the cost. This on the other hand? Perfect!I will be back to buy 4x2x2 when my babies get bigger since it is cheap to buy those too! I almost want to buy them now because I’m afraid they won’t be around in a couple years… BUY THIS ENCLOSURE!!

First off, I've used other products by New Age Pet/ECOFLEX. They ranged from OK to good and lasted about 3 years before something happened to them. Granted, the products were outside between 100 degrees and single digit days throughout those years, every day, rain, snow or shine.I will note that this PVC tank is a different material than the rest of their products I have used. I personally think the quality of this PVC/Plastic is much better than what I have used in the past by them.Out of all the products that I have used by ECOFLEX, this PVC tank is by far the most solid product I have used by them. I wish I could give this 4.4 stars, but we will go with 4 stars. Is it perfect or 5/5? No. Is it solid, well-built and easy to assemble? Definitely.Pros:- All PVC boards are dual layered with air gaps to help with insulation. Still light weight (Easily under 25 pounds), but has provided great heat retention so far, allowing my lights to run less. This saves money for me and keeps my gecko toasty at night.- Took less than 45 minutes to assembly by myself. If you can RTFM, you should be fine. Be sure not to overtighten or force the screws, you WILL crack the PVC due to the pressure. I learned this the hard way with one of the other products I have used by them. Tighten until it is snug and barely moves, DO NOT push past this point.- 10-year warranty. This is a must for me. Anything that has a long warranty shows the company is willing to stand by their product. I couldn't find any other glass, wood or PVC tank company out there that went past 3 years that was under $400.- The tempered glass doors are thick and heavy (but not too heavy). The locking bracket is simple and effective for my usage. Very well made.Improvements, not deal breakers:- Top of the tank has a thick 2-inch boarder around the mesh area on all sides. While this does increase the strength of the mesh screen and make it look nice, it does remove a lot of real estate for lights. Reducing this to a 1-inch border is a safe compromise.- Locking bracket comes out just a tad too far and presses against the opening glass, causing a slight scratching noise. I bent the locking bracket back towards the glass a bit and it helped. Keep this in mind when installing the bracket. Ensure it doesn’t scratch the adjacent door before sticking it on.- Inner dimensions are almost 1” less than the listed general dimensions of 36”x18”x18”. Outer dimensions are 36.6”x18.6”x18.6”. Inner dimensions are 35”x16.8”x16.8”. So, if you are looking for a tank that is exactly 36”x18”x18” on the inner dimensions, keep this in mind. You lose about an inch on each side due to the thickness of the PVC tank and outer trimming. This is not a deal breaker for me since I have a leopard gecko, and this footprint already exceeds the minimum requirements. If you need a bigger footprint for, say a bearded dragon or the like, I suggest looking at the large 48”/extra-large 60” tank or another PVC brand.Cons:- No grommet or the like on this sized tank (Only on the extra-large - 60"). This is quite a disappointment as it makes it difficult to get temperature/humidity control sensors in the tanks for proper husbandry regulation. A 1-inch grommet on either the left or right side would be perfect for a tank this size. I ended up taking a 3/16th drill bit and widened the edge of one of the side slits (3rd slit down) to put the sensor in. It works this way but shouldn't require me to make fabrications like this to the tank out of the box and risk the warranty for basic needs/requirements for any reptile.- Top of the tank does not open in any way. I wish there was a way to take the top off without unscrewing it completely off to deep clean.- Sliding glass door is LOUD. Luckily my gecko doesn’t care at all for the noise (sees it as me coming to get them or give them something) but boy do my cats put their ears back and give me a weird look… While the guiding system works well to keep the glass in place, I think smoothing out the glass edges and using a different material for the track will help with it. I feel the rubber creates too much friction and creates the high-pitched noise my cats and I hear.- The glass doors were a pain to get in. Even following the directions, getting the second piece of glass was very difficult. Per piece, probably took me the longest out of the whole thing. The first door went in with no problem. The second door would not fully snap into the front rail no matter the angle you tried. I had to loosen the right-side top to lift it up slightly and get the glass to fit in while holding the first glass door on the left. Hopefully you are good at multi-tasking. It was a pain to say the least.Overall, I am happy with the tank with the adjustments I have made for my leopard gecko. I would even consider a second one despite the cons above. However, I think there are small things the company can do from the factory that can significantly improve the product they are creating. I hope to see them take this review and implement some of the suggestions for a better product.

Okay, so I have a lot to say about this enclosure. Stick around for a moment if you are looking at this enclosure for your ball pythons or any snake that needs high heat and humidity.I have had the medium one for a few months now and overall, it's a fantastic enclosure! It's a great deal for a good-sized enclosure, came very well packaged and very easy to set up. The material is really nice, it's sturdy but lightweight. I love the sliding glass door panels. It comes with a little nob to lock the doors. The screen mesh top is of good quality, I have a double dome zoo med light fixture on it and it hasn't caved at all. There are vents on both side panels to facilitate airflow. Visually, it's a beautiful enclosure. Honestly, it's perfect if you just need something for a reptile that doesn't depend on humidity. However, this enclosure lacks a few things for my specific needs. I have two ball pythons, the first one I have had in a glass enclosure for the better part of a year and constantly struggling to keep humidity. I bought this as an upgrade thinking that ditching the glass tank would provide my boy with a good amount of humidity. This was not the case, I still struggle with it immensely. Even with a deep thermal heat projector. Another thing I don't like about this enclosure is it's not completely sealed on the bottoms. I failed to realize this and well.. I had poured water into each corner to help with humidity. Didn't realize it was slowly spilling out the bottom and ruined the shelf my boy is sitting on. One other thing that kinda rubbed me the wrong way is the dimensions are off. I got the idea that New Age measurements INCLUDE the enclosure paneling pieces. So they would be measuring from outside to outside, not the inside. I got medium with dimensions 36x18x18, which is supposed to be 50 gallons.... this is NOT 50 gallons. My boy came from a 40-gallon glass enclosure, and upon setting this "50-gallon" one up, it's way smaller than his original one. I couldn't even fit all his tank pieces into this one like I had before because there was that much little room. All that aside, this is a great enclosure and a good value for your money. But I will be upgrading my boy, Casper, once again to a different, bigger, enclosure that I know will hold that humidity and temp.

I purchased this 36" reptile habitat for my leopard gecko two months ago. Let's start by getting the (very minor) cons out of the way:#1, the glass doors themselves are quality. However, when installed, they will rattle if you happen to walk nearby. This can be quite annoying and the fix I used was simple....I cut a strip of paper towel, folded it in half and then folded that over the top of the glass and taped it in place (see pics). The glass fits more more snug and the rattling is gone. Easy.#2, you would think being a reptile terrarium, there would be access holes for any wiring you may use in your pets habitat, there are none. I happen to use a thermostat to control the temperature and it needs to be threaded into the cage (obviously, this goes for thermometers and/or hygrometers that are wired). Again, the fix was easy enough....I used one of the screw holes meant for the lid (see pic). I did have to widen the hole a bit because the thermostat wire is thick, so keep that in mind as well. Now to everything that is good about this habitat! It is very sturdy and fairly easy to put together. I honestly wish I hadn't made the mistake of purchasing our previous terrarium because this is absolutely perfect for a leopard gecko. The switch to a cage with dark walls rather than all glass has been great for making her hiding spots darker and more private, which in turn gives her more "safe spaces". It also reduces agitation due to reflections.I'd offer two bits of advice....the first is probably obvious and is in regards to the door handles, please do yourself the favor of putting the glass in place without them attached first and then measuring out where you want the handles Before you tape them. Remember, the doors will only slide as far as the Other doors handle will allow. The tape is very strong and would be a pain to peel the handles off to reposition them. The second thing would be to remind you that if you are using substrate such as soil....be sure you either seal the bottom/sides with either something permanent or if you eventually want to take it apart, then use something like newspaper/contact paper. It is possible that some (very small amounts) of dirt can "leak out".Overall, I highly recommend this terrarium. The 36" is the perfect size for an adult leopard gecko. It is not easy to find one that is not all glass and is of good quality that doesn't cost a heck of a lot more than this one does (even when not on sale). Yes, I took off a star but only for some small inconveniences....none of which would deter me from purchasing another. Most importantly, my leo loves it!!!
