I use these for guying my radio mast in its retracted position. I wanted something to tension the guys quickly, easily and securely and release quickly for when I want to raise it. They tick all the boxes. If it's windy or not using the mast for a while I lock off the rope with a half hitch to ensure the rope doesn't come out of the toothed gripper. I don't ram the rope too tight in there just in case of any damage.
